My basement has been flooding for almost an entire year and Onyx realty refuses to take care of the problem. Llast spring my basement began to flood and I contacted Onyx realty which handles the maintance issues for our condo association. It was determined that my flooding was being caused by a blocked or collapsed drainage pipe below my condos basement floor. Onyx decided they didn't like the estimate to repair that so they contracted out to [redacted] construction. He decided that the drainage pipe did not need fixed and he would just caulk and seal around the outside of the condo. I wish I could attach pictures to show how bad the work looked. After several months of this which included repeated no shows when they said they would be here my basement continued to leak and I stopped hearing from [redacted].

The Onyx maintance supervisor called and came by and determined that the drainage pipe needed dealt with and he stated they would come by to dig up the basement floor and handle the issue. That was almost three months ago. They simply have never shown up to do the work and my basement continues to flood and a third of my house is not livable.

In addition at the time of the supervisors visit he stated he would fix the shoddy work that [redacted] did and that he would replace some rotting wood on the exterior that he felt may be adding to the flooding issue. Since then one piece of wood was replaced and a ladder was left on my back patio for over a month. One day the ladder dissapeared but all the half cut pieces of wood continue to line my patio and the other rotting wood continues to rot. I do not know why Onyx believes it's okay to leave their trash on my patio nor believes in picking up after themselves nor believes that they have an obligation to finish the work started.

In summary, Onyx Realty has systematically failed in it's obligation to address my flooding basement. It has been almost a year now and I am dealing with the same issues. They have not kept in touch with me, they have not shown up when they said they would, they have not fixed the issue or completed the work they said they would and when I have contacted them they simply say they will take care of it but then nothing ever happens. I see no reason that it would be considered acceptable to allow my basement to flood rather than fulfill their responsibility to take care of the problem. I see no reason that Onyx should be allowed to think it acceptable that I have lost my carpet, the dry wall is starting to rot again, and that I have standing water in my basement when it rains and that my back patio continues to look like something from a home improvement nightmare show. This is my home and Onyx has shown little regard for that fact.
