Review: I purchased an $89 car detail from the foam factory on living[redacted].com. After dropping my car off for the detail, I received a call from the owner stating that my detail did not include wax and buff, and that it would be an extra $30. I agreed to the purchase but decided to double check what my detail included because I felt as if the owner was attempting to strong arm me. This was a prepaid detail, there is no reason there should have extra fees associated with it. The website (http://www.foamfactorydetail.com/rates.html) states that the "[redacted] prestige biz class" is free. which includes the same as the "Prestige detail"; foam hand wash / hand dry / door jamb detail / trunk jamb detail / premium paste wax / wheel & tire detail / engine detail / full cabin vacuum / compressor blowout / interior detail cleaning / leather conditioner / steam carpets / shampoo mats / glass shine.

I called the owner back within 5 minutes notifying him of my findings, and he states that he has already done the work so I will be charged 30. I told him I did not like the way he did business, and not do anything else to my car because I am picking it up. When I arrived the car was not waxed, the engine was not detailed, and the leather was not conditioned. When I went to pay the owner the $30, he told me the price was $65. I did not understand how the price had increased when I paid for a prepaid detail from [redacted], and I only agreed to the one "extra service" that was really included in my purchase. I refused to pay him, and he refused to release the car. I called the police. who sent to squad cars. I explained the situation, and agreed that the owner was being deceptive after reviewing my [redacted] receipt. They advised me that I unfortunately had to pay the owner in full to release the vehicle but he would write in his report that the owner was being deceptive. Officer [redacted] from [redacted] police department gave me the report # [redacted]. I also have my recepits. This was false advertising, I did not receive the service I paid for, and it was a deceptive owner looking to get over on someone.Desired Settlement: full refund because I had to take my car somewhere else to get it detailed and not just washed. ($89 [redacted] + 65 extra) = $154

Review: On the evening of 4/4/13, I dropped my car at the Foam Factory for a detail on 4/5/13 which was arranged with [redacted]. I was asked if I wanted extra cleaning and had said no, just wanted what was covered by the $50 [redacted] I had bought. On 4/5, I called several times to see when my car was finished but could never get a straight answer, and finally around 4pm? I was able to get my car. I expected to pay with the [redacted] and give them a $20 tip however to my surprise, my total was $150. They had charged me the following:$50- [redacted]$60- Extra Cleaning Which I had declined the previous day$30- Tip (in addition to the $20 I gave them)After trying to explain that this wasnt what I agreed to, I finally gave in from exhaustion of arguing and paid the bill. I wrote it off as a bad experience. Then on 4/22 I received a ticket in the mail for running a red light in [redacted], however the incident was dated 4/5 @ 11:44am. My car was in the custody of Foam Factory however instead of cleaning it, they took it for a joyride. Since then he has paid the citation and is willing to give me a voucher for a detail. However I do not want to take my car back to a place that took it off their lot for personal use without my permission. I would like to be refunded the $90 extra I was charged. I am reporting this so that someone can look into this business so that it may stop others from being taken advantage of.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded my $90, $60 that was added on after I declined the extra cleaning and the $30 tip as I gave them cash.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and while I do not agree with the contents of the Foam Factories response. At this point there isn't anything else I can do, please close the compaint but I would like it posted if possible so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Review: On March 28,2013 my car was detailed inside and out by Foam Factory Car Wash at [redacted] Owner [redacted]

After I picked up the car on 3/29/13 and drove it away it stalled within 2 miles and I had to get it towed to [redacted] in [redacted] . On their examination of the car they found the shift selector had an electric short due to liquid in it.

Total repair bill $1190.00

Car was in perfect shape before this and I never ate or drank in this well maintained car.

I have spoken and emailed [redacted] on a number of occasions. He feels this was a coincidence.or a leak from the roof when they washed it. I think one of their inexperienced workers was too aggressive with the interior cleaning around the shift selector.Desired Settlement: Pay for repair of damage caused by their actions.

Review: This issue took place on August 30th. I have emailed the manager, posted on [redacted] and website and no response. We purchased a car detail at the Prestige level, which is not what we got. As we were quickly checking the car out, I happened to open our trunk to notice it wasn't vacuumed. They did that right there. That should have tipped me off. My wife drove the vehicle home and when I got in it later I noticed that windows were not cleaned, seats not vacuumed and only front mats were steam cleaned. [redacted] was the attendant on duty that day. He cussed in front of my wife and spoke poorly about people using the [redacted] calling them "trash." I called him when I got home to complain and no response to my voicemail. I have emailed [redacted] the manager and no response. On top of all this you have to pay a mandatory gratuity when the work wasn't even done correctly.Desired Settlement: Refund the value of the service paid to [redacted] - $89Refund the additional value that I paid for large vehicle upgrade & gratuity - $80
