Review: On May, 8th 2014 I took my two boys to get my hair here My sister works here... The charge for a hair cut is $12 each. The total price came to $24. I paid with my credit card and signed the bottom accpeting the $24 charge. I did not tip because it is my sister to did both haircuts. I I went home later that night I catched my Banking App. and there was a charge $28.80. I texted my sister about adding a tip she said no that the owner [redacted] has been having issue with the Machines changing service fee's. She told me that other Clients have called and complianed about the same issue. It is exactly 20% change on my card. She is adding an automactic 20% fee on Credit card purchases.Desired Settlement: I would like someone to possible go there for a service use a credit card and see if a charge apears due to machine problems and service fees.

I am responding to complaint ID number [redacted]. The client contends that we charge a 20% credit card transaction fee. First of all, we here at Focus Hair Studio have never charged any credit card transaction fee. The client did pay $24.00 for a haircut. However, the credit card company that we use, United States Bankcard Service processes the transaction with a 20% holding fee for 24 hours. Thus when the client went home to review her expense she saw that there was a $28.80 charge on her card. Unfortunately we have no discretion over this holding charge, however after 24 hours the credit card company withholds the fee and returns the 20% to the customer. Several of our clients have notified us with the same issues and each time we have been clear with our clients that this 20% added to the bill is merely a holding fee that will be returned within 24 hours. The client who filed the complaint is also the sister of one of our workers. The client asked about this fee directly to her sister, however the sister (our worker) did not explain clearly that this 20% would be returned to her within 24 hours. This misunderstanding thus prompted our client to file a complaint with your organization. We are working towards solving the issue with the credit card company by installing a new machine, and by re-negotiating a contract that does not include this 20% holding fee. I am rejecting this response because: When the businees owner found out I made the compliant she fired my sister as a direct resonse to me filingthe complant . We Have Agencies like the Revdex.com established to voice our options of services provided to us not to get the employee fired over a customer complaint that was toward the business owner ,, The business owner also does not keep proper bookkepping as I found out through "her " recently fired employee , Pay stub lack withholds and all "bookkeeping and Tips are kept in a compiation book completed by her Husband .... The tips are then taken out of the employees pay.. However on the tax return the tips are added so the emploees pay the tax on tips they did not recieve as Focus Hair Salon uses it as a tax deduction. I feel this is just the tip of the iceburg for uncovering shady business practices by the owners of Focus Salon.
