Horrible movers and experience dealing with HMS and [redacted] is stressful enough but the stress has not ended I had damaged items from my move and am still waiting on a check for from *** I made many attempt to get this check but the phone calls do not get returned and I was told "I ordered check" Beware of this company!

Worst movers ever! I have moved times in my career, around the US and overseas This was by far the worst experience I have ever had My experience was much like [redacted] I could write an entire book, but here is the short version: It started well with [redacted] coming and asking good questions and giving a quote I had a few items that needed special services and he seemed to know what to do Then it all went downhill fast from there The packers were late It took twice as long to pack and load as they estimated The specialty movers came and what they were told was dramatically different than what [redacted] looked directly at and quoted HMS called my company to try to up their quote with some BS reason....little did they know I sit across the hall from the HR DirectorTurns out they lied in the beginning about how fast they could deliver from storage Once a date was finally agreed upon, I arrived at my new home (in Missouri) early one morning to meet the truck as promised, only to get a call a couple hours later that "the truck broke down somewhere in [redacted] " and that it would take a few days to get parts Some checking revealed it was a total lie, as the truck had never left [redacted] Once they finally did arrive, the crew rushed through everything, finishing in the dark, and disappearing so fast it wasn't funny The boxes were grossly over packed, some items were missing, and I had more broken stuff in this move then all my other moves combined, times When I called about the claims process, I started getting the runaround Soon no one would answer the phone, and I tried every extension repeatedly Over several weeks, I called more than times Finally I went to straight to [redacted] [redacted] wouldn't honor the promises HMS made, but they did make good on a fair amount of the damage (I hadn't noted the damage to my walls before the movers ran off), writing me checks for more than $ HMS is no longer with [redacted] ....you should check how often they switch franchisesIn my opinion, [redacted] is a crook and runs a shady operation I would not ever do business with HMS again

Lived in Massachusetts and moved to North Carolina in 7/We used HMS moving to store and move our furniture until we were ready for deliveryThe delivery was for 3/28/2017.they delivered percent of the furniture and would deliver the percent in the next weeksWe have still not received the left over furnitureWe have attempted numerous times to get them to deliver the furniture and no arrangements have been made for the deliveryWe've attempted numerous phone calls with no return answer.letters sent back as undeliverableIs there any way you could somehow look into what is going on[redacted] had said we wouldn't have to pay for the delivery of rest of furniture but the furniture has been in storage and during this time we didn't pay for storage or insurance due to the promises of delivery..We are going on months without deliveryWhat do we need to do to get our furniture

HMS moved my mother and I from *** ** to *** *** *** has the best customer service imaginable I was worried after seeing some negative reviews, however, they all seem to relate to their parent company *** *** *** lines Plus, they said they move people a year Very few bad reviews for that many moves They said They are no longer a *** *** franchise I put two and two together and went for ittheir pricing was excellent and the pay schedule was flexible Nothing broken On time Oh yeah, HUGE and CLEAN truckQuality company

Excellent customer service Sharp and atentive movers who seemed to care very much They inventoried and wrapped out belongings with precisionDeliveries were right on time Pole lamp was damaged, but we were reimbursed on the spot $Overall excellent experience and reasonable pricingNo issues whatsoever All was as promisedGet your pricing and dates/services in writing Then sit back and watch HMS handle your move with efficiency and intelligent planning Very pleasantly surprised!!

On January 12, HMS packed the contents of our apartment in Boston and then moved them to an apartment located in New York City Their process involved an extensive condition report on all of the items On one particular item- a marble top for a credenza- it was noted that there were "dents on item's edges (7, CH, 5, 9) (7, CH, 8,9)"
When this item was delivered to the NYC apartment, it was broken in half The witnesses included the two HMS employees who unpacked the crate, a mover from *** (another moving company that was also delivering some items to the apartment), *** *** and me The *** mover commented that the piece should have been transported and unpacked on it's side so as to avoid this kind of breakage
Our office contacted HMS to report the incident HMS said that his insurance company would want to send someone to look at the damage
At this point, we contacted *** *** in New York to get an estimate for the repair which was $

I hired this company to move my household belongings from ***, MA to California They picked up the load on June 27, I paid approximately $16,to the company on that day I notified them when I hired them that I did not have a delivery address yet They told me I could call with the address when I had it
On August 23, I started trying to make arrangements for delivery I left messages I did eventually reach ***, who told me that they would not be able to ship my belongings until after September 10th I said OK to that
I called back the week of September 12th to finalize when my shipment would arrive I could not get an answer, I was told "you have to speak to someone else who isn't here right now" By the week of the 19th the company did not answer their phone or return my messages
