Talked with Josh (and activated my VoiceMail)My copy of receipt noting damage and my log of e-mails, pictures,...

etc. does not match his statement of "no contact"Anyway, Josh did agree to be responsible for damage repair and repairman John was to call yesterday to set up.Didn't happen. Still no resolution and still no timetable for repair and same old, same old -- promises but nothing happens.

Review: Folkestad Moving Services was contracted to move our possessions from [redacted] Bainbridge Lane, Chino Valley, Arizona 86323 to the Phoenix area. As a home had not been purchased, our possessions were to be placed in storage until a new home was secured. Upon securing a new home at [redacted] West Orange Drive, Litchfield Park, Arizona 85340, arrangements were made for our possessions to be delivered at the new home. We signed a contract on July 4, 2014, understanding that this was a full service move with our belongings being insured. Upon delivery it was discovered numerous damaged items and missing items. A claim was made to Josh Folkestad via email, of FolkeStad Moving Services, of the damaged and missing items. There has been numerous emails and verbal discussions to resolve the claim, since the delivery date of August 19, 2014. At Mr. [redacted] request, estimates were obtained for repair or replacement of the damaged and missing items. Our estimate was $1200 dollars based upon:

We have compiled an estimate of the costs to replace or repair the damaged/broken items:

Book Case – Scratches on finish that were not there previously.

Computer Desk – Keyboard tray glide is bent. No estimated cost, after several hours I was able to straighten the bent glide and fasten it permanently to the keyboard tray.

Entertainment Center – There are two glass shelves cracked or chipped and one shelf completely missing. There were a total of six shelves, there are currently three usable. Obtained a quote from Select Glass, see attached. Replacement cost of glass shelves and the glass side panel of the display case is $309.71.

Display Case – Side panel of glass is shattered, not there see pictures. Broken pieces of glass are in the bottom of the case. See above.

Piano Bench – Has numerous chips and scratches to the finish. Additionally, the seat cover has many white specks on the surface that it previously did not have. A replacement like-in-kind piano bench is $209.99 plus taxes and shipping.

Bed – has scratches and chips to finish on head and foot boards, see pictures. Purchase price of the bed was $180.00 plus taxes, on sale at [redacted]

Screen – There are multiple holes punctured in the screen material that were not there previously. Replacement screen from Amazon is $50.91 plus taxes and shipping.

Water Bed – Multiple scratches and gouges to the finish. Additionally, there are plywood sections that support the bladder that are missing. We were unable to assemble the bed for use. It has been placed in the garage. To repair the water bed and replace missing parts will require the purchase of a sheet of ¾” plywood at $53.97 at Lowe's, cutting to proper size and fitting. Repair of the scratches and gouges is time consuming requiring filling, sanding, staining and finishing. Cost estimate is variable depending on the time required for finishing repairs.

We are missing a bookcase from our daughters room item 051, page 2 of the inventory list. Bookcase, replacement at Walmart is $89.00 plus tax.

We were of the understanding that we were to receive a full service move. Having moved numerous times, we expect some bumps and scratches to possessions during any move. However, the damage and missing items in this case were excessive. Simply applying Carte Blanche knowing that there is insurance that will inadequately compensate for damage and missing items does not release from Folkestad Moving Services the responsibility of a good faith effort to move the possession with minimal damage. If this was the case, what would be the incentive to deliver the possessions in a good state?Desired Settlement: An offer of $400 dollars to compensate for the damaged and missing items was received on November 6, 2014. Folkestad Moving Services arrived at this amount based upon the basic insurance values and the weight of the items. This amount fails to compensate for the damage to items and replace missing possessions. As per their website, the claim is "Fully Licensed & Insured: MC NO.: [redacted] • [redacted] NO.: [redacted]". Additionally it was communicated by email "At, Folkestad Moving it is our dedication to quality and our commitment to excellence that makes us an industry leader in full service relocation services." This leads to believe that employing their services provides re-assurance and confidence that personal possessions will be moved professionally and delivered with satisfaction.
