Before we ever worked on Mr. [redacted]s truck  I told him he needs new injectors. Injectors have a life of 200,000 to 250,000 miles. Mr. [redacted]s truck has 320,000 miles on it. He refused to take my advice and do this service. He has no check engine light on, the IDM (Injection Drive Module)...

communicates on a megahertz signal and level that some alarm systems and communication tower transmit. I explained this several times to Mr. [redacted], but he refuses to listen to me. All I was doing was repeating myself over and over that you need new injectors. All he was concerned about was getting his money back for services that where provided. All the repairs that where done on his previous invoices including a [redacted] air system have nothing to do with his current problem. I continued to ask him what  he wanted his money back for, he couldn't answer me at all. all he wanted was money. he has a very old and neglected [redacted] Excursion that needs a lot of maintenance and repairs, it is in very bad shape! Yes, I did walk away from him because all I was doing was repeating myself several times, he wouldn't listen and he refused to try and understand what his problem is. I have been a Diesel Mechanic for 30 years and my shop works on only diesel engines, 10 to 15 of them a week. we know what we are doing! Thank you, [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:
I am not going to get into a he said/then he said argument with [redacted].
The facts of the matter are-
1-I was told that the injectors 'MIGHT BE" the problem @ $3,000--$5,000 to see if that is the solution
2-If it was absolutely determined by the business that replacing the injectors was the solution, why did that not illustrate itself on a diagnosis?
3-If it was absolutely determined by the business that replacing the injectors was the solution, why did the business continue to work on the vehicle, deeming it repaired and ready to leave on three occasions?
4-If it was absolutely determined by the business that replacing the injectors was the solution, why did the business continue to
diagnose "problems" and continue to replace parts, charging for parts and labor?
5-The only time that I asked for money back was yesterday, after [redacted] said "I will pull out my checkbook and write you a check and end this." I felt (and still feel) that 50% of the money that I have paid to [redacted], dba Folsom Diesel Works is reasonable, looking at the outcome of the entire situation.

The diagnosis and repair of my F350 Ford pickup at [redacted] is complete.
[redacted] spent a good deal of time on the diagnosis, and successfully repaired the vehicle.
Enclosed, please find all three invoices from Folsom Diesel Works, totaling $3,462.90, which did NOT fix the problem. [redacted] (Folsom Diesel Works) eventually claimed that the problem was the fuel injectors, and would additionally cost between $3,000-$5,000. That is when I had my non-operational vehicle TOWED home, then to [redacted] diagnosed and repaired the MINOR electrical problem, with extensive testing after the repair to ensure workmanship, for $440.00 (see enclosed invoice)

In an attempt to negotiate with [redacted] (Folsom Diesel Works), I asked for HALF of the money that I paid to him refunded to me, while filing claim #[redacted] with the Revdex.com. I now am asking for a $2,400.00 refund to me, leaving $1,062.90 for [redacted] to cover the cost of his parts that he installed. (Wholesale shop cost). I would also like to see Folsom Diesel Works reprimanded, punished, and sanctioned by any and all agencies that govern automotive repair businesses. What this company did to me was wrong, and feel 100 percent taken advantage of. I lost the use of my vehicle for four months, spent over $450.00 on towing, and had to spend additional money at a different business to have the vehicle repaired correctly. I sincerely feel that [redacted] felt that I had the resources to keep paying his billing, and this repair was going to continue to cost thousands of dollars each month, until the problem accidently was repaired, or I called a stop to the madness.

I am one hundred percent dissatisfied with [redacted] (Folsom Diesel Works) and will go as far as to say that he has unscrupulous business practices and either does not know what he is doing in the diesel engine repair business, or he is consciously in the practice of deceiving his customers. Either of these options is not good for consumers, and unwary customers are being taken advantage of.

I will agree with Mr. [redacted] on one point, this is unfortunate. Its clear to us that he is only telling you part of our conversations in the hopes to make us look bad. This is a public forum so I feel it is necessary to replay knowing that this could go on and on. The example I will give is, this is like holding the shop responsible for there truck not driving correctly, paying to have front ends parts changed and continue to drive on bad tires.  The replacement of bad batteries, valve cover gaskets, Banks high performance air box and bad battery cables have nothing to do with what is going on now. The only thing that is, is the IDM module, however that was the first thing we replace that was bad. I told him that you need to replace your injectors. He choose not to spend the money. This is not our fault. At this point there is no check engine light on. I also offered to give him a discount on changing the injectors and injector cones in order to help. He chose not to do this. A truck with 320,000 needs a lot on attention in order to keep it running. I do hope his is able to resolve his problem and wish him the best of luck.
