Folsom Relocation & Storage, Inc. Reviews (3)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me

[redacted] called Folsom Relocation & Storage and indicated she hired us to move back in 2009. The move actually took place on 8/1/10 according to my records. She told me how happy she was with  the service we provided her. I retrieved her information from that move and we discussed moving...

her again on or around June 30th 2017. I explained in great detail the rates were a little higher, that she was moving a longer distance than the last time she hired my company, that every house is different because of length of distance to the street, steps, stairs, weather, etc. Ms. [redacted] and I discussed that it DOES NOT COST THE EXACT SAME PRICE every time you move. At no time did I imply that the price for THIS MOVE would be the same as it was back in 2010.I felt comfortable we understood each other.Maybe there was a language barrier. I did discover she did not use us the last time she moved because the addresses did not match up. I remember after discovering that, speaking on the phone with her about my experiences over the years with customers of mine that forget they have accumulated more possessions over a 7 year period. She claimed she did not. I disagree.   I sent the same crew leader that was in charge back in 2010.The 2 other men on her team have 15 or more years experience in the moving industry. Yes, 1 man was new. He was not the reason the move took so long. The reason was [redacted] had more stuff than she did back in 2010.Just because someone wants to think they do not much stuff to move, does not mean they don't. There is no possible way it would have taken that much longer if she had the same amount of items. In addition, you have to be prepared. I stopped by her house on move day and it looked as if she did not have everything boxed and ready to go. That makes a move take more hours.   [redacted] signed (freely) a contract to pay Folsom Relocation & Storage $169 per hour and a $60 fuel surcharge for 4 men and 2 trucks. The agreed to rates in advance. The "guaranteed not to exceed" price on the contract was $2500.00 The amount paid to Folsom Relocation & Storage was $2305.00   [redacted] filed a damage claim that was postmarked 10/4/17. Moving companies have 30 days in which to respond. A letter was sent to Ms. [redacted] on 11/2/17. The claims process has started and will be resolved based on the terms of the contract.

Chuck gave a "not to exceed estimate" . the first day took longer than the owner Mike liked so crew showed up second day with a new contract for additional $200+ for lost time and a message they can't continue till I sign. Heated discussion with Mike on the phone resulted in "sign the contract or he pulls his guys". He would not abide by his legal contract of "not to exceed". Mike has no customer service skills. I warn everyone to stay away they rob you during a stressful time and they know it.
