I wanted to have a tummy tuck and was looking to do so in the beginning of 2017. I had just purchased a new home with my sister so that we could take care of our mother together and assist with expenses. I put $1500 down on my Tummy Tuck, and wanted to get it done, but due to the house being completed was pushed out over 2 months I had to postpone, and reschedule which I was charged approximately $250 to do, they also had my $1500 still. With the house move came additional expenses I did not anticipate at all, there were some issues that had to be addressed which put money I had sat aside for the surgery, to be used for a safe roof over my families head. So again, I had to cancel and was not sure when I could get the money together to have the surgery. Life happens, circumstances happen that are not foreseen. However, it cost me $1500 and I got absolutely nothing out of it, and when I do have the funds necessary to get the procedure I have to start again, and give them another $1500 oh wait, that I am going to have pay in full. They just get to keep my money. Other than having to cancel an appointment on a computer what costs $1500? I understand a cancellation fee of 10% Hell even 25%, but the entire $1500? That in itself is crazy. It's an elective surgery and people should have the right to cancel, reschedule, or change their minds for any reason, without having to be charged $1500 for it. I work in healthcare, unless a patient changes their minds on the very same day, which we get every single day. We do not charge our patients for having a change of heart, or having situations come up that are out of their control, or for any reason. What kind of health care provider is that?

Review: Folsom Surgery Center is Extorting its patients.

After three months if you have not paid your account with them in full (even if your making payments already) they will send you straight to a collection agency, which undoubtedly will ruin your credit. This is extortion (the practice of obtaining something, especially money, through force or threats) i.e: Pay up or be sent to collections. And they do not inform their patients of this beforehand (prior to surgery).

2. Inform patients of their full billing procedures prior to using their services

3. Allow patients to pay their debts and send only those who don't pay to collections.
