I am rejecting this response because: The bussiness owner was very unprofessionalShe also seemed very aggressive toward me, so I would be very uncomfortable taking lessons from herI would just like the complaint about this bussiness to stand

I received a voicemail message form the person who sent this complaint on 6-15-while on vacation. I was unable to connect to the number given from out of town, but did return the call to her on the morning of 6-18-in the a.mas soon as I returned back to business. After she
provided me with partial information about the Gift Certificate in question, I was put on hold by her and we were disconnected. I continued to look up the information with the intention of calling her back when I located what was needed to process the Gift Certificate. This Gift Certificate in question was purchased over years ago on May 3, by someone other than the person with the complaint. She called me back before I was able to locate the invoice and was very upset. I explained that I was trying to locate and verify the Certificate since it had been years. She told me she did not have time to wait while I searched and that it shouldn’t matter because she has a certificate. She began yelling when I tried to explain that I needed to verify the purchase (I keep note on invoices if there are special circumstances with a purchase, such as the certificate was actually used but never turned in). She began to threaten me with legal action and became abusive, complaining that I did not even call her back for days and that I must keep lousy records. I told her it was not necessary to threaten me, and again tried to explain the procedure for handling a certificate from so far back. I NEVER told her I would not honor the certificate, only that I needed to locate the invoice for the purchase She became even more abusive and I disconnected the call. Once I was able to locate the invoice it indicated that the Certificate was purchased by her ex-husband (which she had told me). What she did not tell me was that it appears he purchased it for another woman for the month of June They never showed up for the class but did not actually ever register for the class either. There was also a note on the invoice saying a call was received in asking if the certificate was still good at that time. (Years ago…to which we said yes)She said she received the certificate from her son after he moved out of town.We will honor the certificate but her request that we pay for her to take lessons elsewhere is unacceptable… we will not pay for her to take lessons elsewhere Thank you,

Review: Given a gift certificate for dance lessons with no date or date requirement on it. Called left a message to set up lessons, didn't recieve a return call for four days. When I finally heard from owner of this business, she couldn't confirm this gift cert, I explained who gave it to me and that gift certificates were not supposed to expire in California. I asked why she didn't just research and call me back but she just said if she can't find in her records then she will not take the gift certificate. She then hung up on me.Desired Settlement: For some reason this business does not stand behind its gift certificates. I would like to have lessons elsewhere paid for because after my phone conversation I believe the business owner/operator to be hostile toward me.
