The apartment complex advertises security, but the security does not do anything to actually secure the complex or police up issues that arise like when people illegally park in the street, even if it's next to a sign that says tow away zone. There has been several instances where I would be getting home from work and I would see the visitors? gate left open and everyone just driving through. I have had family and friends visit and all they told security to get through the access gate was their name and they were there to see ***. They didn't have to provide an apartment number and I would not receive a phone call. Security would simply nod their head and open the gate. The majority of the members of security also only speak Spanish. This causes an issue for all the tenants in the community who only speak English. If there is an issue and it is at a time (which is the majority of the time) where there is only a Spanish speaking security guard, they tell you they don't speak English and hang up. Issues were previously brought up to management at the community and the response was that this community is not a right fit and I should move (no penalty to breaking my lease). I have not done so due to work, finances, and just having a baby.

Desired Outcome

Modification/discontinuance of When I deploy, I have to worry about my family's safety because they can't even call security due to my fiancé not knowing Spanish. I would like to see changes to how security operates, actually secure the access gate and call tenants when they have a guest, be able to understand English, ensure people are not parking illegally in he street causing hazards, and actually patrolling at night instead of sitting in their golf cart playing on the phone.

On our website we do not advertise security. We advertise 24 Guardhouse and Courtesy Officers not Security Officers. There is always a bilingual courtesy officer on duty in every shift. The guardhouse does call the tenants when there is a visitor and you have to agree or disagree to let that person in. The only reason why there are cars parked in the street within the property is because we are currently painting the garages and remodeling some areas. As per the Community Manager, she has spoken to you about relocating to one of our other properties and you have declined. If you choose to break your lease, please see the Community Manager at the property. we are willing to work with you in that process.

The issue with people parking in the street has been present since I moved in, not just because the parking garages are being remodeled. I have been blocked in a parking space on multiple occasions by residents and members of the maintenance staff when trying to leave for work in the morning, well before the parking garage was being remodeled. After speaking to the head of security and the manager here, they both said you guys do not tow on property even though you have signs that tow away zone. The only solution is to put a sticker on the window. I have not received a phone call once from the guard shack the entire time I've lived here and I have videos of the guards just opening the gates for visitors without even talking to them. If there is a bilingual guard on every shift, the other guards should get that guard to speak on the phone instead of rudely hanging up. I declined moving out because it would put a lot of stress on my family along with a financial burden of having to hire movers, get a moving truck, etc. She first offered me that option a week before I was deploying and again two weeks before my son was born. I have been looking for a place and I did look at other properties under United Property Management. The Stadium did not fit our needs with the size of the apartment and the leasing staff at The Colony was extremely rude when we went to look at an apartment so we chose not to look there based on the first impression of the staff.

This was a very poor response to the ongoing issues with this community and shows an overall issue with the property management company. Telling someone to move because you don't want to admit there is an issue is not a solution and I'm offended that having me move out was the best solution to the problems in the community. Look at the reviews of the community of *** and *** and see all the other people complaining about the same stuff I am.

This is out final response.
We are aware of a one time your vehicle was blocked by a property vehicle. Other than that, we have not received another complaint from you about your vehicle being blocked. Once again, as we try to beautify the community, there will be some parking issues in the property. we apologies for any inconvenience. We have tried to accommodate you in everyway possible, which is why we offered to let you out of your lease without penalties or the option to relocate to one of our other properties. We want all of our residents to be happy in their homes.

I'll do my final response as well. Just because I only reported it once doesn't mean it didn't happen on multiple occasions. The issue of peopeople parking in the street has been an issue way before the work on the parking garages. I appreciate the offer to allow me to break the lease with no charges, but having someone move does not fix the ongoing problems and as a corporate office to just lie and deny them, it shows a lot about the corporation.
