I can't emphasize enough how much you should avoid this dealership.
Having read other reviews it seems I'm not the only one to experience something in this vein of dishonesty - I only wish I would have seen them before reaching out.
Early this week I found a listing for a new Mazda3 Hatchback for $21,530. Thinking it was too good to be true, I made sure to confirm with their sales person of the price. They did so and told me to come check out the car that night. For reference, it's about a 45 minute drive each way. Upon getting there I met my contact and he/she showed me the car. The first red flag was when he/she showed me the infotainment system, and the screen would not turn on. They said they would get it fixed the next day, but despite this I was still pushed to buy the car that night. We talked prices for a while and they 'confirmed' the price once more. Of course I wasn't going to purchase the car until I saw it in working condition, so I left and told them I'd be back the next day to get it at that price.
It turned out that the issue was bigger than initially thought, meaning it would take another day for it to be ready. To their credit, they said they could work with another dealership to get us a car that day, but unfortunately they didn't get in touch with the dealer in time. I chose to wait to purchase until today so that the sales person I was working with could get commission from my sale when he/she was back at the at the dealership.
Fast forward to today. He/she texts me that they were able to get the car from the other dealership and we set up an appointment. When I arrive, they show me the car and it's dirty (mud, bugs, etc.). They said they would clean it after we made the deal. Now it's time to talk price and the first thing I hear - as many others have - is that they had just noticed a discrepancy in the original listing I saw and couldn't sell for that low. I understand that they need to turn a profit, but the cause for this review isn't based off of the pricing - it's the dishonesty.
They asked me for a copy of the screenshot on Wednesday this week and of course I sent it to them as proof. To be safe, I looked up the listing again and saw that the price was raised to what they told me today. This implies they had knowledge of this discrepancy as early as Wednesday and that they continued to string me along despite that. What peeves me is that they had me drive over there again and risk myself during this pandemic, just to tell me they had just noticed the discrepancy and couldn't honor the price.
