Foot and Ankle Associates of Southwest Virginia, P.C. Reviews (4)

As outlined in your letter to our office on 10/14/2014, the "consumer in this complaint has reviewed the resolution your proposed, but determined that it would not be satisfactory to them"
As previously outlined in our response dated October 9th, 2014, we have investigated this complaint thoroughly and found it to be completely unfounded
Complainant, by their own admission, received services on the dates listed in their letter
Complainant, by their own admission, stated that computerized receipts were generated for their co-payment of $50.00, total monies $
Complainant, by their own admission, stated that they cannot produce the computer generated receipts to substantiate their claim, of payment for $
Computerized receipts can only be generated when a billing transaction is entered A review of the billing system performed by the billing company and the undersigned revealed that the computerized audit trail (which captures each and every transaction) revealed no financial transaction was made and a computerized receipt was not generated on either of the dates in question This was confirmed by the clerk who interacted with the Complainant
Since services were rendered and there is no record of payment by the complainant and the complainant cannot prove that the monies were indeed received, the complainant's "allegations" are unfounded and, therefore, is still liable for the $payment
Additionally, in the complainant's rebuttal letter, it is stated, "I will also be asking for administrators at my doctor's office on where to file a proper medical complaint on and your office for stealing my cash co-pay"
The complainant's "allegations" are not "medical" in nature but one of a "criminal" matter" Since the complainant is adamant in "alleging a crime", the local law enforcement should be contacted, where all parties are interviewed and a full "criminal investigation" conducted The complainant should be advised that filling a complaint to the authorities is indeed a crime that will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law
We would ask that the Revdex.com dismiss this complaint in its entirety as the consumer has made an allegation without proof of any kind as to the validity of his allegation We have a notarized statement from the staff at our office who dealt with complainant as to the inaccuracy of his statements and we have an audit trail from our billing company that we will gladly share with the authorities if needed

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Attn: [redacted] *. [redacted]
I have to have surgery on the bottom of my foot and it's a shame that the
first doctor's office I go to steals my cash co-pay not once but twice, or just
doesn't process it properly. (Incompetence or thievery) How would that make
you feel? I watched "[redacted]" print out a receipt both times. She practically forced
me to pay the $50 each visit. I may or may not have my cash receipt but that is
irrelevant in this situation because you never would think a doctor's office would
steal so blatantly from a surgery patient candidate. I will have to now find a
better doctor's office that can do the surgery. Dr. [redacted] is my primary care
physician that I have to start over with because of the incompetence at your
[redacted]. office.
I hope Dr. [redacted] will be doing the surgery on my foot and at each
future office I visit I will I inform the physicians and staff of this bad and
unprofessional experience. How do you justify losing a surgery patient for staff
stealing my cash co-pay? I will also be asking for administrators at my doctor's
office on where to file a proper medical complaint on "[redacted]" and your office for
stealing my cash co-pay, I will never forget this and for you to practice medicine
this way is crazy.
Question: How did I get in to see the doctor without paying my co-pay? Did
I sneak around both visits?
"New surgery patient gets treated badly at local doctor's office when office
staff steals his cash co-pay!"
Thanks,

We have investigated this allegation.
A review of the complainant's account by out billing company reveals that there were no financial transactions made on the service dates of 4/28/14 and 5/29/14, although services were rendered by this office.  Computerized receipts can only be generated by...

inputting a financial transaction into the billing system.
It is unfortunate that the complainant is unable to substantiate their claim by producing a receipt (s).  Co-payments are the responsibility of an individual, as outlined by their insurances policies.  Since services were rendered and there is no record of a co-payment, complainant is responsible for the $100.00 bill.

Review: First time ever at this office or doctor for a foot problem. The following dates. I called this location to make an appointment and [redacted] took my appointment and when I went out there she states that they can not bill my co-pay.. My co-pay each time was $50.00 USD which I paid both times for a total of $100.00. I must have thrown my receipt away. She printed it out from computer each time. I can describe it to a T. She has been lying and stole my co-pay each time. I have a bill they keep sending me and this it totally unprofessional.Service dates:4/28/14, 5/29/14She will not allow a new person or anyone to see the doctor without paying the co-pay.. I want this resolved any which way. I'm not paying again.. To people who steal!!!Thanks,[redacted]###-###-####Desired Settlement: Stop sending me this bill.. If it's policy to pay a copay before you see a new specialist doctor then fault should fall on her. And they would not allow me to speak with office manager on matter. I don't owe them anything!!!!
