I lived at foothill ridge for 1 year my deposit to move in was 750 during my time there the managers took so long to answer emails when I had a concern I also had so much mold on the wall in the bathroom it was such a health hazard. When it was time for me to move out I had my Final walk through scheduled I emailed them a couple days to confirm it was still happening because of covid19 they didn’t get back to me until an hour before my scheduled walk with “we must of forgot to tell you we’re not doing them” because they canceled on my so last min and I still had to go to work. Never did *** the apartment manager tell me the keys still had to be turned in at that time or else I would be charged for turning them in the next morning she just said she would let me know the charges after they did the walk through. They ended up charging me these ridiculous charges when the apartment was in good shape. No where in the “final break down” did I see a charge for keys until I got my check in the mail and seen it was less than they told me. I asked for another break down of what was charged which was unprofessional not to send it with the check. I asked where this charge for keys came from when it wasn’t my fault they canceled on me. The only response I got was “sorry you feel that way” This apartment staff is so unprofessional and not on top of anything they need to stop robbing people of money to benefit themselves.
Dear ***: We have received the complaint ID# ***. We have gone back and forth with *** about several of the charges on her account. I’m just realizing this now but it seems like her confusion at this point has to do with her not being aware of the actual date when her lease expired. On her Notice to Vacate form, she put a move-out date of 4/5 and requested a requested initial inspection date of 4/6. On 3/27 she contacted me about her balance to confirm the pro-rate amount and when I gave that to her I was looking at her move-out date (not lease expiration date, not noticing that they were different) and just gave her a pro-rate from 4/1-4/5. On 4/3, she contacted me to confirm her inspection and I let her know that we had just become aware that we were unable to do inspections (due to Covid-19 safety precautions) but that I would be happy to email her a list of the charges we assessed after they turned in keys. Which I emailed to her on 4/7 and she contested the carpet/paint charges. I ended up not charging her for the carpet to come to an agreement and to try to settle the situation (even though we did need to shampoo it and normally she should have been responsible for this). After this, she started contesting the fact that we charged through 4/6, I believe due to not realizing that her lease goes through that date which she is contractually rent responsible through her lease end date. This is also the same date that the keys were turned in to us. But she keeps saying that its our fault due to not giving her an inspection as she had requested but we were not able to do them at the time. We do not feel the need to credit her any further, we only charged her through her actual lease dates and already made an exception to not charge for the carpet. We feel that we have been fair in the situation. Please find attached: Move out Statement, email chains, Notice to Vacate, Lease document and photos of charges in question from her apartment.
