The customer came to us on 10/10/16 with his own coolant knowing he was driving his vehicle without coolant or with too little. Our in house mechanic added the coolant to the vehicle as a courtesy for the customer. Our in house mechanic did not...

inspect vehicle at that time he only helped by adding coolant for the customer. The customer did return 10/19/16 explaining the vehicle was smoking, at that time our mechanic inspected the vehicle to find a blown gasket due to customer driving vehicle at above factory recommended engine temperature. The customers car was being drove with out required coolant and oil. the gauges also specified that. To correct the problem we tried a sealant that may fix but not guarantee fixing the problem and we did so at our cost zero cost to the customer in order to correct the problem cause by customer. The sealant unfortunately did not repair or seal the gasket so we offered the customer use of the free warranty we provide to all of our customers which covers 50%labor 50% parts and to replace the gasket would cost us [redacted] and also the customer [redacted] The customer declined to do so. We then also offered to replace the engine under the same warranty which would cost us [redacted] and also the customer [redacted] the customer declined this service also. The customers vehicle was inspected by our in-house mechanic and also Jiffy Lube at purchase. When we sent the customer and vehicle to Jiffy Lube they performed an oil change which we explained was no charge to him and only a courtesy from us and inspected engine and all fluids. This is why we are positive this vehicle did not have this damage at purchase and the damage occurred due to the customer driving the vehicle hot and ignoring the gauges and warning lights. I have attached warranty term and customer acknowledgement with this response. I hope to solve the problem even though the business is not responsible for the damage but I can not due so without participation from the customer. I am sorry this happened and can only hope to help the customer bring the vehicle back to the condition it left here in.

I had a bottle of anti freeze in my car and other additives from my old car that broke down and I had to scrap. how can I cause that kind of damage to a car by driving the car five miles to the doctor's office and back? I believe the engine was already damaged! I did not mind paying the [redacted] rate on the car and was ready to enjoy the car. but now I have no car and out the [redacted] down payment! if the mechanic and Jiffy lube both check the car's fluids, why after ten miles the car started to run hot! I have bought 15 or twenty cars in my life and never had this happen! the Auto Store told me that if I paid [redacted] to try to repair the head gasket, if that did not work more money for a new engine. I came to the Auto Store to purchase a car not repair one. IT would be nice to get my down payment back so I can finally get a CAR!!

Dear Revdex.com , I no longer have the vehicle, the finance company repo the car. the only thing the AUTO STORE can do for me is to give me back my down payment! if not I was told to blast them out on Facebook and Tweeter so everyone in Griffith and Gary know what kind of dealership they truly are!

We would love to repair the engine for Mr. [redacted] and we can do so under the terms of his warranty. The warranty covers 50% labor and 50% parts for powertrain only. I hope [redacted] will contact us so we can do this for him.
