individuals who need a one-of-a kind part created for themThis is because the price for making just one part is usually higher than an individual consumer is willing to payIt just so happens that the complaintant works for a company who is just down the hall in our buildingSo we decided to extend a courtesy to herShe came into our office and gave us the dimesions for a metal plate that she would like cut and shaped to use with a new cooktop that she was purchasing. I have enclosed the paper that she wrote with the dimensions and signed her first name and phone number to itWe then drew up a design and gave her a price of $We showed her the design which I have also included and she ok'd the design before we startedAfter we fabricated this part she picked it up and paid us for itShe then returned and told us it did not fit - that the opening was too big. We never saw the actually cooktop to take our own measurements or to know what size reveal would be neededWe had to use the measurements that she provided for usWhen she returned we told her we would re-quote this job for herWe did exactly what she asked. It should not be held against our comp any for her mistakeAs to the allegation that we did not return her phone calls, we never received any calls from her. Any time she needed to speak with us she just walked down the hall to our officeWe don't understand why she did not come back to our office and speak with us if she had a legitimate complaintAs the piece of metal was custom-made we do not have a use for it and cannot resell itWe do not feel that a full refund is fair as we had to pay for the material and for an employees time to make itA partial refund can be discussedI can be reached on my cellphone at ###-###-####Sincerely, Michael F., President

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
If
Forbes Precision would have told me from the beginning that they could not help
me and that they only deal with commercial business all of this could have been
avoided.   When I approached Mike with
Forbes Precision, I explained to him why I needed the piece of sheet
metal.   I needed the metal to support (hold up) an electric
cooktop because there is no existing countertop.  I provided him with the measurements of the
countertop and the spec’s of the ** cooktop. 
I was under the impression that he fully understood my needs.  I am
not in the sheet metal business.  But, why
would I want a piece of sheet metal cut out the exact size of the cooktop?   How is this material going to hold up a
cooktop? The error was discovered during
the installation process on April 6, 2017.  
My appliance installer could not complete the installation process.  As a result, I have been dealing with a dysfunctional
kitchen since April 6th. On
April 6, I contacted Mike with Forbes Precision to inform him that the sheet
metal was incorrect.  On that same day
I went to Forbes Precision shop and explained the situation to Mike. I was under the impression he was going to
help me correct this situation. A week
or more later I did not hear anything from Forbes Precision and came to the conclusion
that Forbes Precision was not going to help rectify the situation. That is when I decided to contact the RevDex.com.
If
Forbes Precision would have at least contacted me to tell me there is nothing
they could for me, I would have not contacted the Revdex.com. I am
not by any means a wealthly person.  I
work hard for my money and losing $300 does not sit well with me.
On
the subject of Forbes Precision unprofessionalism, on Friday, April 28 an
employee of Forbes Precision approached one of my coworkers complaining about
me.   My coworker told him he did not
care about the situation and he had nothing to do with the situation. It is totally unprofessional, this situation
has nothing to do with the company I work for. It was a personal situation not a business situation.

wish this situation never occurred.
