Review: I was told that if I paid them to install a water pump, it would fix my truck, they then installed the water pump and then told me it needed a new engine & the want me to pay $1500.00 for the water pump and tow the car away. I have no proof they even put a water pump in since the truck does not run?Desired Settlement: I want the truck back , & will have it towed out, I refuse to pay for repairs, that can't be verified and should not have been done if it wasn't what was needed. I refuse to pay for their incorrect diagnosis.

Review: On Monday October 12, 2015, I brought my 2011 Ford F-150 to Ford of Branford for repair of the driver's side heat system. On Tuesday 10/13/15 I was told by Sal C[redacted] from Fof B, that the repair would require the entire dashboard, center console, steering wheel, and both front seats to be removed to get to the $40.00 part that was defective. On Friday 10/16/15 I picked up the truck and paid $1018.60 for a repair that Ford says should only take 6 hours. Over that following weekend I noticed that there were several features of the truck that were not working. The driver's side heated /cooled seats and the rear window defroster were both not working. There are also several other functions controlled from the dashboard that I have not been able to confirm are working or not. All of these functions would have been affected by the work the dealership performed. On Thursday 10/29/15 I was able to bring the truck back to Fof B for evaluation. They had the vehicle for two days and concluded that the control module for the driver's seat needed to be replaced at a cost of $492 and the rear window had shorted wires and needed to be replaced at a cost of just shy of $1000. The service manager John C[redacted] informed me through Sal C[redacted], that there was no connection between the current problems the truck was having and the previous repair. My disagreement fell on deaf ears. I continued to research the problem and on Tuesday 11/17/15. I found a wiring harness under the passenger seat that was incorrectly routed under the right front seat mounting flange and was being crushed by the flange. I took photos of the seat mounting flange and the crushed wiring harness. I then unbolted the passenger seat and removed the wiring harness from under the mounting flange. I was able to massage the wiring harness back to the original round shape, but it was clear that some of the internal wires were damaged with exposed conductors. The following morning I brought the truck back to Fof B and was able to show the photos and other evidence of the damaged wiring harness to Sal C[redacted], the Assistant Service Manager. I asked him what exactly they looked at the second time I brought the vehicle back and what exactly were they going to repair for the $492 I was quoted. The control module is located within 6" of the improperly routed wiring harness. Sal was at a loss for what happened and said "they screwed up". He asked me to email the photos to John C[redacted], which I was able to do once I returned home. I also copied Sal C[redacted] who confirmed receipt. I have not heard one word from John C[redacted].Desired Settlement: Full refund of the $1018.60 for the original repair. This money will be used to repair the damaged wiring harness and subsequent related components caused by the careless workmanship by the Ford of Branford mechanics.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Review: On around September 2013 I purchased a [redacted] from the dealership. At the time of signing all the papers the finance manager offered me a [redacted] extended warranty. I told him I would be interested if it covered 3 specific things (because these are the three known major problems with the [redacted] motor which I was buying) 1) all the electrical components involved with the engine 2) Everything involved with the EGR system 3) The injectors. The finance manager said this warranty covers everything involved with the engine so I would be covered on all three of my concerns. I also asked if the warranty would work at all [redacted] dealers so I could go to one closer to me, he said that it would be the same at all of them. So because he told me this I paid around $2800 for the extended warranty. This past summer my truck was running rough so I brought it to my local dealer [redacted]. My [redacted] needed to be replaced. I told them about my warranty and they said the part was not covered by the warranty I purchased (even though he assured me all my engine electrical compnants would be covered when he sold it to me) I then paid about $1200 for the repair. Now my truck is loosing coolant, I brought it into Family [redacted] to be diagnosed and they tell me I need an EGR cooler and Oil cooler for $3400 and they checked my warranty and none of it is covered. This is the second item I was assured when I bought the warranty I was covered for, but I apparently am not. After both instances I used the contact page on their website to email them and got no reply either time.Desired Settlement: I would like my truck repaired for what I was assured would be covered. I have already paid out of pocket for the FICM,, but I want them to fix the current problem with my truck, or if they are not willing, refund me my warranty, which is useless to me since it apparently doesn't cover the items I specifically asked about that are known problems with these trucks that I was specifically told were going to be covered.
