Fordham Toyota Reviews (15)

Refund was processed January [redacted] 2015…

Review: I leased a 2015 Toyota Camry XSE on May, 2015. A salesperson by the name of Juan Carlos conned me into agreeing that the vehicle was valued at almost $10,000 more than the window price. This was actually pointed out to me by Hudson Toyota. I understand that their objective was to maximize profit, but at almost $10,000 is robbery.Desired Settlement: I would like for Toyota to credit $4,000 to my recent loan, after the buyout from Hudson Toyota is processed.

Business

Response:

[redacted] and I had a very cordial conversation concerning the above mentioned complaint. Since she has already traded in her vehicle to another dealership, we could not come to an equitable resolution on that particular vehicle. However, I made it abundantly clear to her, that I will extend the offer of providing extensive discounts for parts/services costs on her new vehicle.

Review: In July, I was solicited to trade in my car. After initially being told that my credit was only sufficient for a trade with some money down. However , after I told them that I wasn't able to put money down , the salesman named Juan told me that if I leave $100 guarantee deposit, he would be able to hold the car that they were trying to sell me, and if he wasn't successful with getting some type of option to trade, he would immediately refund the $100. Needless to say, he wasn't successful. So when I requested my money back, he asked for my card info again over the phone. I wasn't comfortable with doing that so I suggested that I come in person. I finally made it there, gave him my card info, was told my money would be refunded in a couple (2) of days. Four days later and I called to inquire and didn't receive a call back. I called again on 9/** and spoke to a manager who asked for me to come in again so he can copy my card . This situation is ridiculous and long drawn. I should add that initially, Juan told me that I would hear back from him the next day regarding finding me loan options but I didn't hear back from him for a week. This I very unprofessional and I'm researching to see if it was illegal for them to ask for a deposit to begin a loan processDesired Settlement: I want my money back immediately .

Business

Response:

We do take deposits in order to reserve a vehicle for a customer. I have apologized to [redacted] and have sent him the refund receipt showing his refund is processed. I called him to confirm he received my email, which he did.

Review: When I purchased the truck I was told that the GOLD Coverage level was the top level which I paid $2500.00 for. Now 6 months later my dashboard is lit up like a [redacted]tmas tree and another dealer told me that the GOLD level does not cover the problem and for $2500 I should have gotten the Platinum Level Coverage. Another sales tactic, giving me a lesser warranty for the higher level so they can POCKET the difference.Desired Settlement: Upgrade my coverage to Platinum Level like the guy [redacted] told me that it is the highest Warranty and will cover everything.

Business

Response:

I have contacted the warranty company and upgraded the customer from the gold to the platinum.

I spoke to the customer [redacted] and he is satisfied. He is aware that he can contact me directly if he ever has any issues.

Thank you

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Honestly, I only went for a consultation since my options were very very limited and being a first timer made it a little challenging, but I went home on a brand new 2015 car. They not only got out of their way to better fulfill my needs and assist me but the welcoming and professional ambiance of the staf, made it seem too easy to purchase a car, considering this being my first experience as a car owner I must say these people know what they are doing, but they also make you feel confident enough too, that you also understand the process and the process went very smooth. Kudos to you guys! Special to my Sales Rep Wally V[redacted] for the 5 star service. Keep it up! :)

Review: On November **, 2014 I went to Fordham Toyota to trade in my car and get a new one. I was told that if I made a down payment of $50 that I would have a better chance of getting a car because my application with a down payment would show commitment for getting a vehicle. I ended up not getting a car and was told I would be refunded. I have been there twice since that date regarding my refund and was told its being processed each time and that I would be receiving it that week and it hasn't come through. Now its January *, 2014 and still have not received my refund that I was promised back in November of 2014.Desired Settlement: I would like my refund in cash being that they have such a hard time putting it back on my card.

Review: Fordham Toyota take $1000 deposit without the card holder's permission .

This dealer said to me ,they do not sale for any vehicle also no refund to me ,also threaten me for fraud.

More important , January [redacted]2014 12:46 pm ,when I try to have a good conversation with this company ,the boss of the dealership even take force action to me, he kicked me on my chest hardly.Desired Settlement: If I can get my $1000 deposit back,I will not look into more responsibility from Fordham Toyota and his boss.

Consumer

Response:

January

**2014 ,Fordham Toyota take $1000 deposit without the card holder's

permission through the debit card [redacted].

January [redacted]2014,a friend of mine named [redacted] emailed me a receipt of

$1000.He have my card information ,but when this transaction happened ,I did

not get any noticed.

January **2014, I make phone call to my bank , found this transaction is for

Fordham Toyota happened in January [redacted] 2014. Then I called the Fordham Toyota

immediately request for refund ,they refused to do so by company nonrefundable

policy, and Fordham Toyota sales woman named [redacted] threaten me on the

phone using aggressive words , for example , **, **, she is trying

to miss leading me and scared me. I got confused and anxious after

talking to the company.

I decide to go the Fordham Toyota by my self try to find out if we can have a

good conversation, to solve this problem before any third party involved in.

January [redacted]2014 , afternoon around 12 pm I went Fordham Toyota to meet

[redacted] or the manager of the company.

A man named [redacted] called him self boss of the company, drive me out ,and do not

want have any conversation to me, even their name.

I went to the company second time, the boss **come to me again ,try to drive

me away again, before I left ,I asked [redacted] two questions with audio record by

my cell phone.

1.Where is the car?

He said loudly : there is no car for you .

2.Where is my money ?

He said loudly: There is no refund for you ,there is no more business for you.

He also mentioned I fraud them.

This dealer said to me ,they do not sale for any vehicle also no refund to me

,also threaten me, I am fraud.

More important , January [redacted]2014 12:46 pm ,when I try to have a good

conversation with this company ,the boss of the dealership even take violence

action to me, he kicked me on my chest hardly, all stuff in this company seen

his action, also video monitor should have all record for all happened.

I called the bank to get my money back for two reason.

1.When they take $1000 away from my card , they didn't check the card holder's

name, they didn't ask for the cardholder's permission ,

without the cardholder's ID ,signature, voice permission or any kind of

permission, they take my personal property away from me.

2. I have no reason and no purpose fraud a car company. Actually it is my

money been take away and I am the person who losing personal property.

I have the audio record on my cellphone what they said to me in the company

which happened January 24th 2014.

I have the receipt from Fordham Toyota without any nonrefundable words on it.

If I can

get my $1000 deposit back,I will not look into more responsibility from Fordham

Toyota and his boss.

All I want is my personal property and peace.

I am not try to hurting someone else , I just try to defend myself.

If two party of us can get a agreement, there is no necessary for any third

party involved anymore.

Here I upload the receipt of Fordham.

And also the audio record.

Review: The complaint I am filing is based upon the fact that I was overcharged for the services rendered on my automobile on 3/**/2014. I went to get an oil change and I believe that since they saw a disabled, female senior citizen they took advantage of me. They said I needed to have my oil on changed and they told me if I didn't have it changed my engine would blow up. Therefor out of fear I agreed because I wanted to be safe. They charged me for four hours of service at ninety-eight dollars an hour . They didn't tell me how much the labor would be when I went to pick up my vehicle I was charged 98 dollars per hour for labor on a job that a second mechanic said should take no longer than an hour. the part needed to fix my car only cost 43 dollars but the labor cost 400.00. I know that they took advantage of me because I was an elderly woman.Desired Settlement: I would like a billing adjustment with partial refund to my debit card. I have owned a toyota for over twenty years and have gone to Toyota dealerships to have my car serviced many times. I have never been overcharged like this before for labor on a job that required less time than they stated. They only had to place silicone around the oil pan and that required four hours of labor from a professional mechanic? That is questionable. I believe had I taken a male with me then this wouldn't have happened. Again, the receipt stated that the silicone costed $43.00, when tax a labor was added I paid $500.00.

Business

Response:

The customer never called or had any questions out billing. would recommend for customer to call [redacted]. so we could get more info. from customer so issue can be looked into. please contact me at my office at ###-###-####,my cell phone at ###-###-#### or my email at [redacted] and all emails do come to my phone aswell

Review: My wife took our Toyota Prius for service. The dealer representative [redacted] called me at work with a quote of $1500 + tax. I declined an air filter replacement and the new quote was $1320+tax. I agreed and told my wife so, but did not mention the price to her, as it didn't occur to me that dealer may charge her anything different than what was agreed. My wife paid the bill with her credit card. When she returned home, the bill I saw was $1500+tax, and no, air filter replacement was not done either. The following day I called [redacted] and told him we were overcharged. He asked for time to review the bill. I agreed and told him to call me back if he had a problem. Later, instead of calling me, [redacted] left a message on my wife's cell stating that he gave us a very good price and no adjustment is warranted. After that message I reviewed the bill again. I noticed that we were charged $500 for parts and $1000 for labor @ $98/hr. The car was in the shop for 9 hrs. First 3 hrs dealer was running a diagnostic that costs $200 and is waived if customer performs the repair with the dealer. So total labor time should have been 6hrs and price $588. I believe that [redacted] misled my wife into paying more than the price he agreed with me and that he also overcharged me for labor time.We own 2 Toyotas and our family has 6 Toyotas between us. Nothing like this has ever happened before.Desired Settlement: The dealer owes me $180+tax=195.75 for charging more than the agreed price. I also want him to review the labor cost and comment on why it was $1000.

Review: On Sunday April **, 2014 I decided I wanted to trade in my Toyota Rav 4 2010 for a newer model. The sales associate [redacted]) assisted me that afternoon. The sales associate mentioned that it would take a few days for me to receive a quote based on the monthly payment I would have, if I purchased a Toyota Rav 4 2013. He then mentioned that I would have to make a commitment, for prove that I wanted to move forward. The commitment could either be $300 dollars for registration fees, or $1,100 for taxes. Before I moved forward I asked the sales associated if my money was refundable, he then went to ask [redacted] (who was the associates [redacted] that day, because his regular [redacted] was on vacation) and then told me "Yes your money is refundable because it is against the law not to give you back your money." I then wrote out a check for $300. On April **, 2014 I received a telephone call in the evening explaining that the bank has come up with a price that I would love, I then went to the business to hear what they had to say. I went to the sales associate he told me the [redacted] had worked out a good deal. However, I needed to call Progressive to switch my car insurance. I explained to the associate that I have not decided to purchase the car because I need the monthly quote first. He said he could not provide that information until the insurance was switched over. I have never traded a car and trusted he knew what he was talking about. Progressive was called by the associate and the associate mentioned to the Progressive agent multiple times that I was switching my insurance because I was buying a new car. When I spoke to the Progressive agent while the sales person was in front of me, I explained that I still had not decided if I wanted the car, I wanted a monthly quote to begin. The progressive agent mentioned that he could provide the associate with the information he wanted without the insurance being switched over. I asked the progressive agent how often does a customer switch insurance over to a car they simply want a quote on, and he mentioned not many. I then asked the progressive agent how will I would be affected if I switch the insurance over and decided that the quote was over my price range. The progressive agent indicated to me that I would just need to make sure I applied the insurance over before I left the show room. I then decided to allow the Progressive agent to make the insurance switch. I then was called into [redacted]'s office (the [redacted]). [redacted] provided me with a quote that was way out my range. I then asked for my check back and my title. The title was provided but I was told I would have the check the following day. Today is April **, 2014 and the check still has not been made. It took Toyota two days to cash my check and it has been over 15 days and the General [redacted], and other [redacted] will not return my calls regarding my $300 check for car registration fees. Since I did not buy a car or even register one the check never should have been cashed until I had done so. The Toyota staff were trying to push me to purchase an item that I had struggle finding out the monthly cost for. I want my money back. [redacted], and [redacted] left one message each, five minutes apart on about April **, 2014. I called to return there calls multiple times with no success. I also called Toyota customer service and was informed that they will advised the auto dealer that I was not satisfied.Desired Settlement: I want my money back very soon and an apology for poor customer service. I wanted to buy a car not feel lied to or pressured.

Review: Revdex.com Complaint, Improper or Inferior Service:

I have had an unfortunate experience with the service department of Fordham Toyota. While the people at Fordham Toyota have been very friendly we have been unable to reach an agreement on how to proceed with the following problem. It now seems that they are intent on not returning my calls or servicing my vehicle.

1) June *, 2013 - I brought my 2007 Toyota Highlander into Fordham Toyota to service the AC system. I was informed that I needed to replace the air conditioner compressor, $995 for an aftermarket compressor (vs $2175 for OEM Toyota compressor) I was convinced to move ahead with the aftermarket compressor after being informed that there was little difference and they would offer me a 12 month warranty. I agreed, the car was kept overnight and the repair was made in addition to fixing the valve cover gasket for $269 and repairing the top motor mount for $259. Total = >$1600 including tax.

2) Winter 2014 - When I turn on the defroster the car starts shuddering violently and AC light starts blinking. My local mechanic takes a look, says it's the compressor, which is engages when the defrost is turned on, and it has gone bad. I avoid using the defrost until I can be without the car for the repair.

3) March 2014 - I bring the car into Fordham Toyota for a warranty repair on the AC compressor. Service representative tells me they are unable to replicate the extreme shuddering and AC light blinking and they can't understand what I'm talking about (despite both things having happened earlier that morning when I brought the car in) They tell me that the extreme shuddering means I need a tuneup including replacing the spark plugs. I consent to the work and pay $400 for the tuneup (including tax) When I pick up the car and put on the defrost, there's no shuddering.

4) June 2014 - I turn on the AC only to find out it's not putting out any cold air.

5) June *, 2014 - I bring the car back to Fordham Toyota with the expectation that I would need to recharge the AC system. Instead I'm told that the compressor is bad and needs to be replaced. When I pointed out that the compressor is still under the 12 month warranty I was informed that I misunderstood and only had a 6 month warranty since it was an aftermarket part. When I ask to speak to the [redacted] I get a phone call back from my service rep that he is unavailable but I can speak with him the next day (Saturday) . I pick up the car, test the AC and the shuddering has returned.

6) June *, 2014 - I call Fordham Toyota at 10AM and ask to speak to the [redacted], I'm told he's not in yet. I call back at 1PM, I'm told the [redacted] is not in on Saturdays. I call Toyota's national customer service center.

7) June **, 2014 - I call Fordham Toyota (3:00PM) to speak to the [redacted], I speak with another sales representative and leave a message.

8) June **, 2014 - I call Fordham Toyota at 2:54pm, speak with the [redacted] who offers to call me back in five minutes. Two hours later (5pm) [redacted] calls me back, tells me that he understands all the problems that I've had but it is in fact a 6 month warranty. He does not have anywhere he can bill the service or repair to. He tells me that he needs to "crunch the numbers" to get me the lowest possible price for the repair and will call me back the next day. He asks me to think about what I can contribute to pay.

9) June **, 2014 (Friday) - At 5:29PM I receive a message back from the [redacted] that he's sorry he couldn't reach me but he will call me on Monday (June **).

10) June **, 2014 - I have not heard back from the [redacted] so at 4:00pm I call Fordham Toyota and leave a message for the [redacted].

11) June **, 2014 - I send an email to the [redacted] that I have not heard back from them and I want to avoid having to file a Revdex.com complaint.

I brought my vehicle in to have the AC repaired. Three trips later to the service department and over $2,000 that I've spent mostly on AC and other small repairs at Fordham Toyota and I don't have a working air conditioner. An AC compressor is not a consumable. It should not take 3 trips to repair an air conditioner. The service department should stand by their product and their service and fix the problem.Desired Settlement: Immediately replace the existing compressor with a new aftermarket compressor along with a full recharge of the AC system so that it is working and 6 month written warranty on the compressor.

or

a full refund of original AC compressor repair ($995) and full refund of the tax on the purchase.

Review: I leased a vehicle from fordham toyota in 2010. When lease was due and I had to return vehicle I had over mileage. At the time the sales person which I was dealing by the name of [redacted] told me if I leased a new vehicle I would not incur any charges. I leased a new vehicle on February 2013. Months later I received a bill from toyota for $1100 for over mileage on previous vehicle. When I took bill to fordham toyota. They washed their hands and stated they were not responsible for bill. They also charged me hundreds of dollars to register my car and they never did. I had to go personally to motor vehicles and register my car. They also would not return the money I paid them for the service of registering my car which they failed to do.Desired Settlement: I would like to get the $1100 in over miles they said they would take care of and $160 I paid dmv to registet my cat

Business

Response:

Customer [redacted],

[redacted] came into Fordham Toyota to Lease a vehicle February 2013.

[redacted] came to Fordham Toyota with a NYS Drivers License and NYS Licenses plates that he was looking to transfer to the leased vehicle.

Fordham Toyota is an authorized NYS plate issuance dealer. Fordham Toyota uses and agency to process customers registrations. [redacted]'s paperwork for registration we sent out 4days after he took delivery.

[redacted]'s paperwork came back rejected with a suspension to register/license. [redacted] was contacted and the issue was brought to his attention. [redacted] later notified us that he had addressed his problem. Paperwork was then sent back for a second submission and again rejected for the same reason. At this time is was found that [redacted] was on a suspension for a time period of aproximately over 200 days.

Many attempts were tried to contact [redacted] to notify him of this problem. When contact was finally made with [redacted] we told him Fordham Toytoa and himself had an obligation to the bank for a title to be issued in their name due to it being a lease. A lease vehicle is owned by the bank leaving the bank to be the title holder. As we attempted to title the vehicle we were then notified that [redacted] neede to surrender his plates and we needed the plate surrender slip in order to complete the titling process. After continuous attemts to retreive the plate surrender slip we were finally able to follow through with titleing process.

[redacted] states he would like a reimbursement of registration fee he paid since he was the one to register the vehicle once his suspension was lifted. Fordham Toyota is abligated and will reimburse [redacted] for the diference after the title fee.

[redacted] also stated that we offered to pay his over wear and tear/mileage and that is completely false. [redacted] the salesman and [redacted] the manager both explained that all we would help out with was his last few payments in wich we did. [redacted] was fully aware of our obligation to him prior to taking the vehicle.

We will reimburse his registration fee minus the title fee and that is all.

Thank you

General Sales Manger

Business

Response:

After further investigation of [redacted]'s complaint I will keep to my word and reimburse him the difference from the DMV charged minus the title fee. I spoke with two managers who dealt with [redacted] and salesperson in regards to his case. We only agreed to pay his remainder payments on lease return. We have paid those remaining payments as we promised the next week after he took possession of his new vehicle. We did not agree to pay his over mileage or wear and tear prior to him taking delivery of his new vehicle.

Review: I went to Fordham Toyota looking for a car, the sale man ask me how much I can put down I told him $2000 but I only pay $ 500 with my debit card, the remaining balance until the back approves me. So 3 days later the sale man call me he said I wasn't approve by the bank but not to worry he will keep on trying, I waited for a week he didn't call me, so I went to the dealership just to find out he was fired, so I spoke with he's [redacted] about I need my deposit back, because they can't get the bank to approve me, he ask for the prove that I put $500 down, I gave him the prove and my debit card he went to the back a minute later he's back and said your money will be back in your account in a week. I left 2 weeks later I went back because I didn't see my money he then say 3 more days, a week later I went back he finally said refunding my money is not their priority, so another saleman said you will get your money by tomorrow.
