Fordice Construction provided the consumer with two different proposals, but when Fordice Construction went to the Client’s residence to start the job Fordice Construction realized the roof was in such bad shape that removing two courses of roofing would be impossible. The
shingles were falling apartIf Fordice Construction were to pull up the third course of composition all the way to remove the first and second course the third course would have torn since the composition was so brittle. Fordice Construction informed the client that the entire roof needed to be replaced, and that Fordice Construction could replace his roof for around $7,000.00. The client did not want to pay for a new roof, and asked Fordice Construction for other optionsFordice Construction stated to the client that anything other than replacing the roof was not a guarantee that it would mitigate leaks or water damage. Fordice Construction explained to the client that without the roof being replaced none of Fordice Construction’s work would be warrantiedFordice Construction told the client that the roof needed to be replaced, and that was the only true way to fix any damage that might occur in the future The client insisted that Fordice Construction remove the leaf guards since they were installed improperly over the shingles and should have been installed under the shingles. The company that installed the leaf guards ran screws directly through the composition on the client’s roof. Fordice Construction proposed to the client that Fordice Construction could put a bead of Henrys roofing adhesive under all of the shingles on the second course to try to stop the screw holes from leaking water. Fordice Construction explained to the client that it was not a guarantee since the roof needed to be replaced
The attached invoice was sent via email to *** *** in April of I have attached the email where it states money was taken off because new composition was not installed, and the invoice also shows the $taken off. The invoice details all of the work that was done at the client’s residence Flashing is not on the invoice since it was never replaced The client paid the invoice in full with no issues Fordice Construction believes that this complaint is because the client’s friend is a former employee that Fordice Construction fired in July of this year
