Review: On April 11, 2013, a representative [redacted])came to our home to tell us about the services she and her company offered with respects to cemetery services. She was a very nice, convincing sales person! We told her only [redacted] wanted to be buried upon his death and that I, [redacted], wanted to be cremated to save on the expense of a funeral. We told her several times, but she insisted the "best way" to do this, was for them ([redacted]) to provide the Cremation and the Burial Rights, Vaults, and Final Interment/Entombment/Inurnment(whatever that means) for both of us. She continued to say, "With all discounts, and only $1000.00 down payment we would have this paid off in 24 months at only $172.83 per month. She seemed nice and we trusted what she said and we gave her the check and signed the agreement without reading or understanding what it contained--yes, we take the blame for that! We believe that whether she intentionally deceived us about what we were buying or she made a mistake,(we told her several times what we wanted--obviously, that is not what we bought) we have been taken advantage of! You see, [redacted] is 75 years old(8/16/38) and I am 70 (3/11/44) and we do not want to be taken advantage of regardless of our age. On February 19, 2014, a Financial Adviser from our church was reviewing our income and expenses and we showed him the paperwork fro the cemetery transaction. We told him [redacted] was to be buried and I was to be cremated. He asked why we bought 2 Burial Rights, Vaults, and interment fees if only one of us was going to be buried. We told him we did not know that we both the two above and would have never agreed to that had we known or had it explained to us by that "nice, honest looking sales representative." We unfortunately trusted her! We signed the agreement without reading or understanding what it said--just sign here! He suggested we call the company to see what they would do andthey only agreed to...........Desired Settlement: [redacted] only agreed to give us a discount casket that we have not yet purchased for [redacted]--all I wanted was an urn, but I guess there is not as much commission or profits in that for the cemetery or sales representative. We need help from you. We don't like being taken advantage of because of our age or lack of understanding. We believe it is fair that Walt pay for his funeral, but they should either credit or refund us, for what we told the representative in the first place....
