When I originally called this business I was told it would be $plus to come out on a weekend, holiday or emergency I said it was not an emergency The came out on a Tuesday and charged $to unclog my basement floor drain I believe I was overcharged No other company charges this much for same kid Will not recommend them ever

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.

At approximately 1:00pm on Friday 8/29/2014 I called [redacted] regarding the complaint. [redacted] and I had a good conversation, I wanted to apologize and express to him that customer service is first and foremost with our company and was there anything I could do to resolve the issue. [redacted]...

[redacted] informed me that he did not want a refund and that he appreciated the phone call. The phone conversation went very well I believe the everything is resolved. After talking to the customer I was able to explain why we proceeded the way we did and apologize for any behavior that might have been perceived as rude or non caring and assured him that type of behavior IS NOT OK WITH ME and that I would address the employee and inquire about it. As owner of Adam-Eve Plumbing I take good customer service and having a good reputation very seriously. We really do try to treat people how we want to be treated unfortunately lack of communication sometimes stops that from happening, we take full responsibility for our actions right or wrong and will get better and learn from our mistakes.

Synopsis:
Our sewer line at our residence became clogged and sewage backed up into our basement. I had four companies come to our home to give estimates for repairing/replacing the sewer line from our house to the road. (Two of those companies snaked the line.) Two companies use the procedure to dig a trench and replace all the sewer line. Two companies use the procedure to reline the section of the line that was in better shape, and dig a trench and replace the short section that was in the worst shape – where the belly is. Which method they used (reline versus dig a trench and replace) didn’t seem to affect the cost significantly, in this case. However, that will depend on what you dig the trench through that gets destroyed (landscaping, driveway, trees, etc.) The costs given ranged from just under $4,000 to just under $13,000. Technicians from all companies were polite and acted professionally. When you have sewage in your basement, it is understandable that you might spend a few extra dollars to get someone to come in quickly and unclog it. But please remember, if you think you need to replace your sewer line, there is generally no hurry in having it done since your line was just cleared. Take your time and get 3 or 4 (or more) estimates. Research the companies and the methods they use. I don’t know if I should call the repairmen technicians, or if they should be called salesmen.
This company:
Adam-Eve Sewer & Drain Services, Inc. had the second lowest cost to repair/replace the sewer line.
As part of the contract, Adam-Eve asked us to remove a tree before starting the project. The more expensive companies did not acknowledge the fact that the back hoe could not have close enough access to the sewer line with the tree there. Or that if it could, the tree would probably die. I do not know if the other companies would say that they had given us a price and would honor it, by doing whatever is necessary in handling the tree or routing around it, at no additional charge. Or if they would amend the contract to include the costs associated with dealing with the tree.
Adam-Eve dealt with the tree up front. They pay more attention to detail to provide a more accurate, more realistic estimate. They don't want anyone confronted with unwelcome surprises well into the project. I appreciate no hidden costs.
Would I recommend? Yes
