Hey [redacted] , We are confused, we don't have any record of you contacting us about the WebAccess functionWhat phone number or email were you using to contact us? Regards, [redacted] Buffalo Support

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me Regards, [redacted] ***

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:I have stated with out confusion that I wanted to use the LinkStation as advertise as a web server Double talk is easy for you You know that I am right as you removed the video from https://www.youtube.com/ [redacted] I suspect your words are just for the reader who might come across this information on the Revdex.com website Okay I will leave this in God's hands Regards, [redacted]

That particular KB article is primarily the Australian English KB and is not maintained by the US teamThe Web Server functionality doesn't actually exist on the latest TS series any longer eitherOne of the real problems with the Web Server was that due to the closed nature of the OS, it wasn't very secure because it couldn't be updated with the latest patches and suchThis prompted its removal due to the very limited use as a test server (and even then, it's not going to be anything like a real, live web server)I can certainly ask the people who maintain that page to remove the reference, but year old KB articles on a nserver aren't really 'advertising' I also wasn't able to locate that YouTube video you referenced. The primary page for the LSin the US is http://www[redacted] , which doesn't mention that functionality at all.I wish I had an easy resolution here, but the Diskless Enclosure unit you bought is unique, and I don't have any other sort of unit to replace it with; it isn't a matter of me not wanting to, there is literally no such animalI do understand that your situation is a bit disappointing, and that your previous NAS had this function and it's easy to assume that a new one would tooWe do have an old LS-WVL/E in the lab that was made back in that I can mail you for free if you are interestedIt wouldn't have any warranty, but maybe you can use that as a web server, and the as your primary storageYour other alternative would be to return that unit to the place you purchased it

***, Both of those videos are for functionality called 'WebAccess' which is not an HTTP web serverThe LScan in fact do 'WebAccess'In fact, that second video is the direct walk-through for how to do itMaybe we are confusing terminology here? Are you simply trying to share files to remote people? Or are you actually looking to run an HTTP web page? If it is the latter, then the reason that buffalo-global page is out of date is that years ago, we stopped shipping the last LinkStation that enabled you to run a very basic HTTP server, and they never took it downThere is certainly no desire to deceive there, and an HTTP server on a home-use oriented device wasn't ever very popular due to the aforementioned security and performance issues, which is why it's no longer a featureBut, hopefully you are wanting to set up 'WebAccess' to set up file shares like you linked the videos to - and then there hasn't been any issue other than simple miscommunicationLet me know.Regards, ***

Sir,I was aware of your issue, and my team did in fact test this issue, and inquire to engineering about your specific issue. When that device was originally sold, it used an LG drive that is no longer made by LG, and the change to a Pioneer drive was not a cost saving measure, but a requirementIt is worth noting that the device has precisely the same spec, and this kind of hardware is all under a standard set of specifications that define what a BDXL 16x drive is.As to why it may not have worked at the same speeds you remember from when your original unit was purchased could have many, many different reasons, including blank disks used, OS, burning software, system environment, etcIf the unit that you got from [redacted] isn't the unit you expected or wanted, I would encourage you to return it to [redacted] - I do not have any ability to provide you with the original drive, it simply is not made any longerBenBuffalo Support

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:the WWW before all URL means World Wide Web Why would you post something on the WWW and say it is only meant for some other country? Besides the fact that you admit the LinkStation in that country can support a website shows you do have a replacement for my product.https:// [redacted] https:/ [redacted] https:// [redacted] the link above is one of many that explains the firmware is for both lLnkStation and TeraStations support websitesI only ask that you trade my company down graded LinkStation and firm ware with out drives for a TeraStation with out drives and it firmware that supports a website.I believe you guys are trying to take advantage of the general public's lack of computer knowledge to your benefit Regards, [redacted]

Ms ***,I see that we responded to both your emails on Saturday and then again on Sunday asking for information to set up the RMA.Just need you to fill out the info on that email, looks like the RMA is in processJust need proof of purchase sent to [redacted] and then all your contact info + your choice of basic or advanced RMA

***,You And I have spoken outside of this tool, and I think we can close the issue, please let me know. ***

This particular case has been escalated several times, and has been reviewedThe WZR-HP-G450H is a pretty unique unit : it is a 3xsingle band router with external antennasThe next generation unit is also a 3x(simultaneous radios) and has external antennas. When we replace units with
non-identical models, usually because the unit went End of Life, we primarily look for a unit that is as close as possibleIn this case, we have no other 3xunit running DD-WRT with external antennasThere is a significantly upgraded dual-band 3xwith -internal- antennas which is partially black, but even it is a two-toned color with a big red button on it. The Warranty is pretty clear about replacement units of unlike models, found at http://www.buffalotech.com/support-and-downloads/warranty-and-rma, and this unit is completely identical except for the color, and thus is the best possible substitute referred to, as the difference is only cosmetic. We do our best to get these right, there have been other escalations in the past where lack of external antennas was the source of dissatisfaction, so external antennas is high on our list of properties to match if at all possible. We do have an old LS-WVL/E in the lab that was made back in 2012 that I can mail you for free if you are interested. It wouldn't have any warranty, but maybe you can use that as a web server, and the 220 as your primary storage. Your other alternative would be to return that unit to the place you purchased it.

I am rejecting this response because:in my case I don't care about 3 external antennas that don't really make a difference in signal quality from the reviews I've seen including my own personal experience.I will except the model up that is black!Buffalo did not provide a solution to my problem in there response!buffalo's escalation department at no time contacted me to resolve my problem! If Buffalo would have contacted me with options after receiving my defective item then they could avoid problems like this and the one he listed as an example!
The price I paid originally was $80 + The upgrade is listed at or bellow $79 I don't see where the company has a problem with my request so it matches my equipment and original purchase.I would also like to point out again that buffalo out and out lied to me about their products several times via email!
