This letter will address the complaints of a customer from November 9, who came at around the time 8:pm.Here are the points we would like to address in our defense: We always let customers check the buffet before being seated especially when it nearing closing time, which on November 9, was at 9:pmOur hostess that day, ***, did ask the customers to check the buffet before showing them to their table, which they did and confirmed that it was alright to stay and eat We let customers who come late know that they have the option of ordering more food if any of the food is not available on the buffet; however, it would take around minutes to cook the foodThis is due to the lack of customers at late hours, and we would not like to waste any of the foodBecause we do close at 9:pm on Sundays, the workers do have their dinner around this timeThe waiters/waitresses also start cleaning their own sections in order to get off work on timeAccording to their waiter, the customers ate for at least an hour and also had plates full of crab legs before complaining about the lack of food on the buffetThe manager at that time was willing to serve more food for them if they were willing to wait for about minutes; however, they demanded that we give them both a free meal, which was impossible due to the amount of crab legs they hadCrab legs are $per pound on the market, and our buffet is only $per person during weekend dinners, which means we would only lose more moneyIf they had not eaten plates of crab legs before complaining, we would not have charged them; however, crab legs are very expensive, and as a business, we were already losing money due to the amount of crab legs they ate, which was around lbs, costing around $without taxThis is less than their entire meal cost even with drinks and taxThe manager at this time also gave them a 10% discount Although we are very sorry about the food, there was not much we could have doneIt is not possible to let the customers eat for free due to the amount of crab legs they had eaten which was plates (around lbs total)They were offered to preview the buffet before being seated, which allowed them see what foods we had left in the buffetThey were also informed about the dosing time which was at 9:pm and decided to stay even with only an hour left until closing timeThe workers at the restaurant also stayed later in order to clean up especially the waiter of their table who the customers did not even tipWe also did mention that we would be more than happy to make more of any food they wanted; however, they refused to wait and only demanded that we give them both a free mealAgain, we apologize for any Inconvenience this may have caused to those involved although we did try to mediate with the customer by giving them 10% off their original cost Formosa Seafood buffet E 82nd St Indianapolis In 317-595-
