I would not recommend this business under any circumstancesThe building on Jersey Ave in Port Jervis, where I rented two units, is in a state of disrepair, and when I reported a leak into my unit from plumbing above, I was ignored Although I gave them more notice than their contract required, they were extremely slow in returning my security deposit, and spent months dodging my phone calls and outright lying to me about the reasons for delays (on the very rare occasions when I got any response at all)Avoid this business! Review: I've been a client of Fort Knox Storage in Middletown, NY since 2006. I've paid out some $7,000.00 or more in 7 years.

I paid my bill on Saturday, September *, 2013. I was charged a $15.00 late fee.

I spoke with the agent to verify my access to [redacted] the next day, Sunday September [redacted]. He explained I needed to enter the last 6 digits of my SS #.

He made absolutely no mention that a lock had been placed on my unit and that I would not have access to my unit the next day. I made this clear in the conversation.

I called Monday to register a complaint. The Manager was not in. I called again today Thursday, September **, 2013. The Manager ([redacted]) returned my call.

I explained to her what took place. She explained the company policy was to place a lock on late payment units. I explained that this was the first time I ever heard of such a policy in the 7 years of my service. I explained that the agent I spoke with could have issued a friendly reminder of this policy since he hears that I was coming the next day.

The Manger repeated the policy. I explained that I now understood the policy but wanted compensation for 3 hours of driving, gas, tolls, and an entire afternoon wasted on Sunday. I asked for a month waiver for rent.

She refused to negotiate any settlement for my inconvenience.

The Manger did absolutely nothing to accommodate my bad experience. She was totally oblivious of my inconvenience.

I was now very upset at the experience, and even more upset at the lack of management skills and disposition of this Manager to accommodate a displeased client.Desired Settlement: I requested a waiver for the next month rent. This was denied. I am now requesting a refund for last month's rent and I wish to close my account this month, vacate my belongings, and receive my security deposit in full.

Review: Moved out of storage unit e/o April 2015. Was told I fulfilled all requirements to receive refund of security deposit. After numerous phone calls since June (I waited 6 wks. before following up giving them ample time to process the refund), and having been told the refund check was sent and re-issued three times, I still have not received it. In addition nobody calls me back, including their Ops Manager who they said they requested to call me. The amount is only $79, and after all the time I spent on follow up calls, plus getting aggravated each time and I suspect lied to -- Come on, how can you expect some one to believe that you issued and sent a check, stopped payment and reissued 3 times? I've lived at the same address for 15 years with only one occasion that I know of of not receiving mail. Coincidentally, that one time was for a rent increase letter that Fort Knox said they sent to me but I didn't received it. I actually made a formal complaint to the post office about it, but at this point I'm inclined to think they lied about that also.Desired Settlement: Refund of my security deposit doubled in value to make up for all my time spent and aggravation that I endured.

Review: I opened a storage unit in the beginning of may 2015 which did not even have a full month I gave them 10 days notice on when my stuff would be out they closed it out on the 23rd of may and had all my stuff out by that date. I still have not yet received my refund for the storage unit as of today july 1st 2015 I have called like every other day and they keep telling me it was approved and my check was mailed to me which I have yet to receive in the mailDesired Settlement: I want my refund as was told on the phone it's been mailed and I have not received it yet
