I returned to the office on April 7th to receive a voice mail that was left by our member [redacted] on Monday April 6th.  I called Ms. [redacted] on April 7th to ask her to allow me time to look into her compliant. On April 3rd an error was discovered on her account....

After reviewing the account I discovered that on Feb 9th we received a check from her that we applied to her car loan instead of her signature loan.  In the meantime the car was traded in and we financed another car.  This error resulted in the payoff given to the dealer to be less because we had applied the $1,000.00 check to the car loan.  When we received the check from the dealer the payoff was applied to her car loan and $238.16 a overage from the payoff because we had applied the $1,000.00 back in Feb. was deposited into her savings account.  To resolve the error the Credit Union took a loss of $761.84 and applied this amount plus the amount from the overage of the payoff $238.16 to equal a $1,000.00 and posted the amount to the correct loan.  I am sorry that our member had to file a compliant with the Revdex.com.  We valve our members relationship with us and would have resolved this error in the same manner without having received this complaint.   We did need time to gather all the facts so we could resolve the issue.

Review: I have a personal revolving loan and a car loan through Fort Lee. On April 3 2015 I called to get the pay off amount on my revolving loan which should have been $750 I was told it was $1900. I asked to list off all payments I made to rep. All payments were listed except for Feb 2015. I pulled up my back account and informed the person on the phone check was Feb 5 and cashed by teller #30 Feb 9th for $1,000 going to loan 101603 which is documented on check. She stated would call me back, In stead [redacted] called me back who is over car loan and stated that the rep put my check on the wrong account and that was the account that truck was traded in. Reported the amount he gave [redacted] was minus my $1000 and he was not aware the money can't be recovered therefore I was responsible to repay that $1000 to the account it was taken from. I disputed this because it made no sense and not fare or legal since that check was clearly labeled for the account to go to and the error on there part. I was referred to [redacted] who did not call back. I came in in person April 4 spoke with Richard Majewski Branch manager who told me he can't help me it was above his pay grade. He was rude stated he could not understand why I was so angry because I came in his office telling him to give me $1000 I requested the CEO number told she had no cards he did write it on back of a card. I called her no return call on Monday April 6 2015. [redacted] called April 6 2015 ask what I wanted to happen. I explained the money needs go on right account. He stated the amount that was given to Pearson was minus my $1000 so no way to give it back. I stated that check was corrected labeled with account to go to this is not legal he stated he will get back but can't see giving me @1000. No one is giving me $1000 it is my money I sent in and the teller made a error and [redacted] sold account without double checking and seeing wring check was placed on that account before he gave a balance for car dealer to pay.Desired Settlement: To put my $1000 on the correct account I wrote on the check for it to go to without charging me an additional $1000 to pay for the mistake they made. No late fees to occur while this matter is being taken care of on the loan in question.
