I have been living in Fort Pierce for 11years. My FPUA bill avg about 550 in the winter and about 750 in the summer. I about a year ago I replaced my old aluminum windows with hurricane impact window. I also replaced my old shingle roof with a metal roof. That should have made my home alot more energy efficent right? I just compared this years bill vs last years and there is big difference between the two years. Every month this year is higher than last years. I just received my current July bill and it is 1129.92. What can we do as customers to cube this insanity?
I relocated from South Florida to Fort Pierce because the rents are cheaper, however the FPUA bills are absurdI am in a one bedroom apt, during Autumn the bills are over $this is without using the A/C, with myself and my family being away for a period of one weekIn South Florida using FPL I was paying $for a bedroom house, where the A/C was running 24/and I used the stove excessively for bakingHere in Fort Pierce I quit baking because the electric bills are so high...and I am talking about a period of time where it is cool outside, my windows are open all day, I don't use a microwave or toaster and as I mentioned before I don't bake anymore, not to mention the gas prices have dropped to $over hereI am absolutely afraid of when summer comesAnd the attitude is they don't care if your on disability or any reason whatsoever, if you don't pay, your electric gets cutFort Pierce is beautiful but there is a catch
