Thank you for your notification of this complaint. After review of the patients chart we at Whitewater Oral Surgery PLLC will agree to write off her charges and return the money to the insurance company. The patient is currently years and months old and someone obviously made
an appointment for him to be seen at our office. We cannot know every home situation possible and we assumed that he was in communication with his parentsHe was responsible to make the appointment on time and asked appropriate questions
For your information, we have multiple younger aged individuals come to our office to get their consultations prior to surgeryWe never perform surgical procedures on minors without written consent. This case was no different and we do not feel we did anything wrong. However, in the future we will confirm with parents or guardians prior to seeing them for any reasonWe maintain that we still have the legal right to have confidential conversations with all patients which is maintained in a doctor-patient relationship
The patients balance is currently $which we will convert to zero. The $received from the insurance company will be returned to the insurance company who issued the checkThis will zero out her balance and we will not expect any payment in the futureMoving forward we would encourage to have this patient seek treatment elsewhere in the future
