Review: On March [redacted] I called fortune nail spa asking if they could take me for a full set acrylic nails without the tips. The woman on the phone said yes in about 10 minutes. I came to the salon and sat down with [redacted] who told me they couldn't do the acrylic set without tips I would have to get the silk wrap for double the price (50$ instead of 25$). Being new to fake nails I said okay. After leaving the salon I knew I wasn't completely happy with the job. I felt it was rushed and sloppy. It was only when I got outside into natural light that I noticed all the mistakes. I went back inside asking [redacted] to fix them. He did fix one extremely visible indentation on my left pinkie finger. I told him also about my left ring finger and my right thumb which he replied with "those are fine" and quickly dismissed my feelings. At this point I had been at the salon for over 2 hours so I let the pinkie nail dry and left thinking I could get over the imperfections. In total I paid 56$ for the service 51$ and 5$ in tip. I got outside and realized I hated the job so I proceeded to walk over to another salon where I asked the woman working if she could fix them. She pointed out all the flaws and the faulty work that he had done. She told me that they would likely break soon and that she could not completely fix them but attempt to make them look better. She filed them fixed a crack on my left thumb repainted them. All in all I spent another hour and a half there and another 30$. After I left I was infuriated and went back to fortune nail spa asking to speak with the [redacted]. [redacted] said he was the [redacted] and we spoke. I told him I did not want to hurt his feelings or tell him he's bad at his job but I was unhappy with the service and wanted my money back. He refused and told me that the other nail salon was lying to me. I showed him the issues that were clearly visible with the nails and he said nothing. He called the [redacted] on the phone, speaking purely in another language so that I could not understand. He told me to wait until he got there. I then spoke with the [redacted] when he arrived 15 minutes later. He did not tell me his name. He argued with me for about half hour. I told him that I was a waitress and that if he was unhappy with my service he would not pay me. He proceeded to argue his point saying that if he ate his meal at a restaurant and then asked me for his money back that as an establishment we would not give it back. I replied to this which was when he cut off telling me to wait my turn to speak until he was done. He asked me several times if I was done speaking. He told me that he would give me a gift card for 20$ and a box to keep clean tools in but would not refund me. At this point I could say nothing further he was no longer willing to work something out. I took the gift card and left. Before I left he said I only want to give you the best customer service you are a young beautiful girl we want to make you happy.

I firmly believe that this [redacted] is extremely unprofessional. I do not believe that this would have ever occurred had I been a man or an older woman. I feel disrespected and taken advantage of. As a customer I have the right to be unsatisfied with a service provided. I hold the right to my opinion on the service given. I respect the opinion of the other nail technician who clearly has years of experience and was disgusted at the job done on my nails. I am now at home with throbbing nails. If they do break due to his job they are likely to take half of my real nails with them resulting in pain and potential infection. If you search reviews on fortune nails on sites like [redacted] and [redacted] there are other reviews of unsatisfied customers. Infections from pedicures, and horrible customer service. I am appalled by what I had to go through today. At no time did the [redacted] apologize for the job I was unhappy with. That alone shows his lack of respect and flawed mindset on how to handle issues within his business.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded in full for the service. The amount being 51$. I will send back the gift card if need be as I do not want to ever step into that establishment again let alone have another service done there. I believe that a thorough investigation should be done looking into the salons practices, licenses, and health code violations.
