Board makes all decisions for the HOA. We have not been contacted by this homeowner, other than a note included with the August HOA Assessment Payment and a single email in May,2015, regarding lights behind the garage of her unit. The homeowner has not attended any HOA Annual Meetings in the past 4 years, has not attended a single monthly HOA Board Meeting, has not talked with any Board Member, and has not contacted us in any other fashion to discuss any concerns. Through the evidence of telephone call logs, I find no incoming calls from Ms. [redacted], therefore I do not believe I have been "rude and crude" to her on the phone. The Board of Directors is well aware of delayed maintenance throughout the community, and has been very selective in the completion of projects due to the current cash position of the HOA, resulting from the non-payment of an roof replacement insurance claim that has been submitted. The Board makes the decision as to what projects are completed, not the management company. In regards to claim related to ICE, prior to the 12/24/2014 snow storm, the Board made the executive decision to delay removal of snow by one day, in an effort to reduce costs incurred by the Association. Snow removal on Holidays is at a high premium, and it was decided that due to the low snowfall forecast, snow removal would be delayed until after the holiday day, to control costs. In regards to the lawns, an irrigation controller that controls the system in front of Ms. [redacted]'s unit stopped functioning mid-way through the 2015 summer growing season. The Board approved the replacement of the irrigation controller within 24 hours, and the irrigation controller was replaced within 48 hours, but unfortunately, the turf browned out. Once the irrigation controller was replaced, the turf was rejuvenated within a couple of weeks. Due to the large slope in the turf in that area as well as the full exposure, the recovery takes longer. In 2015, bids for removal/replacement of shrubs that died as a result of the "polar plunge" in November of 2014 were rejected by the Board due to the high costs. The Board Members have volunteered to prune dead wood from shrubs throughout the community, in an effort to reduce costs incurred by the Association, in hopes of being able to fund the re-planting of select plants either later in the fall, or in the Spring of 2016. In the past 4+ years of managing this particular association, we have not only reduced the overall costs of the association, but have also obtained roughly $18,000 in recovered CD funds and corrections to water bills. We feel, as does the Board, that Foster Management has performed very professionally and efficiently, given the limited resources of the Community. Board Meetings are held on a monthly basis, and the Board encourages homeowners to attend to be informed on the current topics of the community.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/09/04) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Mr. [redacted] has NEVER responded to me via any media (phone, e-mail)nor has he ever actually completed the very simple task of replacing a garage light. I and my partner are "at-risk adults" (over 60) as is the lady who fell on the ice/hit her head & who ultimately had to have brain surgery; yet, Mr. [redacted] has/had absolutely no empathy nor will he actually do anything to change the situation within [redacted] I am a reasonable person but Mr [redacted] is not. This is an on-going issue with our worthless representative; while they pick on me for not attending meetings, that is immaterial since we (homeowners) should be able to actually get resolution with a simple phone call - that never happens. We spend enough in our HOA fees to expect a few simply fixes. It really isn't that difficult to perform your job & respond with dignity & respect to your clients.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2015/10/12) */
The HOA Board makes all decisions for the community. With the multitude of problems currently facing the Madison Park Townhouses HOA, the HOA Board has been very diligent on trying to save costs incurred by the HOA, in an effort to avoid a special assessment. In many cases, homeowners get angry for items that are outside of the management company's control, yet we have to take the brunt of the complaints, as we are the first point of contact. We understand that the decisions of the Board may not always be the popular decision for each individual homeowner.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 16, 2015/10/18) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I believe that this response is a Threat of an ASSESSMENT for absolutely NO Reason simply because I "called" him out. Mr [redacted] is a Bully & will continue to do so unless If he actually DOES HIS JOB!! Which he is, apparently, unable to do so as a Property Manager! If this isn't his "forte", then he should find another profession! If there are issues with this HOA, then he needs to be a CARING Individual & WORK with the Board. I seriously don't see that happening with his Bullying attitude! Foster MGMT needs to be FINANCIALLY Responsible for all costs of the HOA & the Ineptness of the Roofing contractors which we, as homeowners, may now be liable for - for absolutely NO reason - This Foster Mgmt group has never benefited the Madison Park HOA & has essentially tried to "bully" the board and is now upset that someone like me has actually "made them responsible" for their actions.
