I am rejecting this response because: it contains statements that are and/or were not made to me. when I contacted LivingSpace to remove, they did NOT tell me that there was no historical record of my being on the lease. Quite the opposite, they told me I DID have a contract, and that's why I was obligated to use them.I was NOT informed that I had no obligation to the company (again, the opposite), nor was there any talk of a discount of the removal for what I "would have paid for the unit initially". What I was told was that "here's the fee for the removal, we're also including a penalty fee for not updating your year renewal." I agree I was told by the building that LivingSpace was the only company that could remove the wall because they told the building manager, Andrew Gross, that this was the case, and he called me directly to say that because the company said they had a contract with my name on it, he was going to have to side with the company and obligate me to use LivingSpace for removal services. The other building removal was not a fly-by-night company, as my property building would not allow anyone who was not insured and bonded to do any work of that magnitude. It was a certified company. This comes to down to the single fact that I would not have collaborated with LivingSpace unless I fully believed the assertions made to me by the employees about the nonexistent contract

LivingSpace leases dividers under contract to an apartment tenant. This rental includes removal, however it is only valid for the contract signer and for up to 3 years. When Ms. [redacted] contacted LivingSpace to remove a divider system from her apartment we had no immediate data base record of...

her leasing the system or paying for renewal and servicing. We told her we would search our historical records, however, we again found no record. As such, we had no record of her paying for the system nor having a signed agreement. She was informed that we had no obligation to her but we were willing to take it down for less than she would have paid for the unit initially and also less than the building would charge for removal. Essentially, we agreed to honor the conditions within our lease with a non-lease holder. I believe this is where the confusion began. Ms. [redacted] was told by the building that she could only use LivingSpace to remove. To our knowledge, this is due to the damages and unapproved work done by other companies. We tried to help, we lowered the cost and the building ultimately decides what companies they allow to work in their buildings. There are many small fly-by-night companies operating in Manhattan that are "one time, cash and gone" and take no responsibility for damage. Ultimately, a cheaper initial price with a "company" of this nature typically results in damage charges far exceeding the price paid to LivingSpace. We tried .....

Unfortunately, I disagree with the assertions. Apologies for the apparent misunderstanding, I think the communication on our part was clear. I believe one complaint to Revdex.com in almost 3 decades speaks for itself. After 28 years of business and servicing 12 to 16 customers per day, over 3000 per year, the 1 or 2 complaints (valid or not) posted on-line per year is unfortunate but unavoidable.
