Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
Dear Revdex.com,
The response from F.I.Sis very misleadingIf one pays for a one week service/ fee at $( namely : a course by course evaluation, which I was told on the phone by them it includes all my Degrees, GPA, etc...) then I expect they would CALL / EMAIL me should they encounter something " DIFFERENT" than what is expected to be delivered within a few days. If on day of this process, the evaluator realizes he CANNOT give the US Equivalency for my two degrees, then I SHOULD BE NOTIFIED right away as it does alter the service I am expected to receive and it will impact my application to a University Program I was intending to send my Evaluation to. I have had to call them on day 7, the day I was expecting the Evaluation back, to only find out, they hadn't included my Real Estate degree( as they felt it was a certificate, not a DEGREE) , no GPA given, nor no US Equivalent degree for my Bachelor degree in Social Sciences. Mrs I***, in her well written response, seems to ignore and fails to mention, rather points the finger at my asking FIS to provide what THEY HAD PROMISED TO DELIVER she would like the audience to believe I'm asking EXTRA ~ and the delay is due to my FAULT ~ ironically, this should have been pointed out to me from the GET GO ~~
In addition to her "statements" , I have NOT, at ANY GIVEN TIME asked them to change their policies, but merely for explanations and I was getting stressed for time, as I had paid for a one week service, yet I felt like I was disturbing them with my asking questions, on services I PAID FOR and was expecting ~! I did asked WHY I was not given a US equivalency for my completes undergraduate, Bachelors Degrees. I wasn't given the " why's" ? I was emailed twice that the EVALUATOR would contact me , HE /SHE NEVER DID
That was also after waiting a week for the " evaluator" or someone from their company to follow up with me.( as I paid for the week service) I had to call and find all of this out, the day I called (Dec.7th ) and the day after (Dec.8th) ~ only to find out, that asking questions caused my evaluation to get cancelled- without further explanations and told by Mrs I*** of the "Service cancellation" emailed that once service is cancelled, no re-evaluation would be possible and she recommended I go somewhere else ~!?! My husband, whom paid for the service, was so surprised at her "lack of response or explanations when he called her, she simply said : your order has been cancelled, my day is over now , I'm going home, you'll receive an email tomorrow and hung up on him"The next day, my husband called the VP of Operations, MrBrian B*** who was surprised to hear about " her behavior " and didn't agree on the "cancellation policy" that he was going to look into it and call my husband back. A few hours later, we received another long email intertwined with some of my exchanged emails, but no phone calls back from the VP
All I wanted was to clarify why I wasn't given an equivalency to a US Degree- this is an international company, they do evaluations for people all over the world, therefore, I expected an educated response to my inquiry and that their evaluator would take the time, verify with my graduating University course content ( compare credits by course given versus what's offered in the US ) and let me know how they differ or not? I wasnt given a response ~ I have paid time and money($55,000) for my near years of studies to get my first degree. I called my University yesterday and got some clarifications that in Canada , we have both: years programs and years program, they are both valid but differ in verbiage to their US Counterparts- the three years degree is called a Baccalaureate in Social Sciences with a minor in Sociology- if I did years program: it would be called same by with a Major in Sociology ( different amount of credits)The Quebec and Ontario school systems differ from the United states- again, I was " under the impression" that FIS experts evaluator would be cognizant of these differences and would be qualified to render a credit / degree equivalency based on that " knowledge". Again, I wasn't provided with any explanations in that regard. It seems to me that it's a TERMINOLOGY issue, not a course content difference- and if they are experts , recognized and part of NACES ( the accrediting agency) then they should be able to understand the Education system in Canada , Ontario or at least research it, compare credits, pre-requisites to programs, etcI had a Grade 13th level to get into University, nowadays, it's different. Canadians call their degrees " University Degree" and US calls it a COLLEGE DegreeFor Canadians , College means " Cegep" or technical school/profesional school which leads to diplomas not bachelor's degreesAgain, terminology
The strange thing is THEY DO recognize my Baccalaureate in Education, equivalent to a US years Degree when in fact , I have done it in only year of study !!!! I was only told they have used my years of Social Sciences (sociology minor ) combined it with Education ( year) to give me the US Years degree. Another strange fact, FIS says they "dont combined GPA " calculations of my undergrad degrees but they combined my degrees ( that have nothing to do with each other) for the US Equivalent Honours degree ~ it is utterly confusing !
I now have a cancellation notice from Mrs I*** that says I will get the $reimbursed on my credit card. I just wanted explanations in a reasonable time frame, to be able to decide whether this is what I signed up for. One glance at my Transcripts, FIS saw how many credits, hours, and course list I did from what year to what yearShould they have called me back right away, perhaps I would have had time to call my University and untangle this mess of not knowing if what I spent three years doing is worth nothing in the US and moved on.
Overall, my experience was unpleasant, confusing, time/energy consuming and frustrating, being promised the evaluator would email/call me , but never did, it may have solved any questions or inquiries I had ~ instead, adm.assistant were sending me partial info, then Mrs I*** decided to " CANCEL my ORDER" without further discussion
It would be great to understand from their evaluator's expertise " HOW / WHY " I am not granted a US Equivalency ( of a bachelor Degree I spent three years doing ) in terms of course content, grade 13th classes pre-requisites I've done, as well credits obtained for each one and how they compare in USA - with a similar program and their pre-requisites
At this point, I just want a clear understanding
Sincerely,*** ***

Dear Revdex.com representatives,
We are sorry we were not able to issue an evaluation report for Ms. [redacted] but unfortunately FIS cannot change its placement policy and give a three-year Canadian degree the equivalent of a four-year US bachelor's degree.  We did try to customize the report as much...

as we could and give detailed explanations along the way but this was not satisfactory for Ms. [redacted] who demanded a bachelor's degree equivalent.  We recommended other agencies that may have a different placement recommendation than FIS and may be able to help.  The case was cancelled since we could not issue the report and we exceptionally waive our cancellation fee to issue a full refund.
Please find attached the correspondence and full background regarding this case.
Sincerely,
Brian B[redacted]
