Ms. [redacted],
Upon researching this further it seems there was some miscommunication regarding the two piers. In reviewing the job with production, the two piers were actually installed but moved to another location. The revised set of...

drawings that we received from engineering was emailed to your son ([redacted]) by our production manager on September 12th. Since the piers were installed, a refund was not needed.
If you have any additional questions or issues, please feel free to contact us.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2014/11/28) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have lost any trust I had with this company due to the poor communication and lack there of. Many calls were made by me with no response. Then a direct lie involving a problem they would fix while the basement area was being done. I will NEVER be convinced that the two piers were installed elsewhere. I WAS NEVER ADVISED OF THISwhy not? A home owner should be advised of changes being made and agree to it. The [redacted] St. side was liftedno piers used. I was here each day they worked and was told this was going to be done instead of the piers. I also saw that kind of equipment being loaded back on the work truck as they got ready to leave. In the meantime, due to the lack of piers on that side of the house it has moved 2" along with the concrete pillar that sustains a huge porch window. Being told by [redacted], before any work began, the only thing holding up that window was that same pillar. I find it very disappointing that [redacted] of the ownershas never made any attempt to contact me regarding any of these issues. I had great faith and trust in him. With no response I asked [redacted] my son in-law, for help. Being a recent widow I felt I was being taken advantage of in many ways. I find myself a senior not far from 80 years of agespending well over $70,000 and still having major foundation problems is about the last thing I would have expected. I do remember an employee named [redacted] admitting that the two piers were not used as planned and a refund should be due. My son in-law heard this from him on the phone and passed the information on to me. I was told by [redacted] that they could fix the house for another $21.000. Looking back, I would NEVER do anything like this again. I have nothing good to say at this time about this company. I will pass the word in this community to avoid any contact with them.

Mrs. [redacted],
We assure you that all of the piers paid for were used. [redacted], a representative from our dealer's main office that was out to oversee training, was actually the man running point on this job onsite. He explained to you what the job entailed and how the lift would work. Since in your discussions you expressed that you didn't want to have the porch steps removed to install the 2 piers designated to provide support for that area, they were moved instead to the other side of the house to provide the additional lift support needed along your wall of windows. Below if an image of the floorplan emailed to your son-in-law explaining where they were moved to. The area in clouds show where the changes were made from the original design. In regards to the other side of your house, since no piers were even installed along that side it was not lifted or stabilized and therefore there is a chance that the side will continue to shift. If you would like, we can send someone out to re-examine your home's foundation to ensure the piers in place are working properly along the side installed and better evaluate the damage you mention on the porch side. This would give us a have a better understanding of what is happening to your home.

Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 16, 2014/12/15) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I disagree with your response. I do remember someone from the Omaha office being on the job for a few days. Never did anyone from the "main" office talk to me about what was going to be done and how things would be after the job was finished. The person who gave this information to me was [redacted] on his very first visit to the house. The foreman on the job was a young manI forget his name but remember that his girlfriend was expecting and due during the time he was in Willows. HE IS THE ONE AND ONLY who told medaily what I could expect. AGAIN, I can honestly say that no one ever talked to me about using the piers elsewhere. I WILL NEVER BELIEVE otherwise regardless of what another response from you might say. I do remember telling the "young" foreman that I would prefer that the tile steps not be removed. BUT, I remember very well saying that IF that had to be done to support the house THEN DO IT!! When you say they were moved to the window side of the housethat involves most of my houseit has many windows. Very unclear and NEVER was I advised of that. My son-in-law asked many weeks ago for a POST PLAN of what exactly was donehe did not receive the proper ENGINEERING post plans. He is a registered engineer and well aware of those types of plans. Interesting that the sides of the house are shifting where the job was done. Explain this!! I was told this would NEVER happen once the job was completed. I firmly believe there is much more involved here then you realize. Plain and simpleit solved nothing!!!

We would give this firm the lowest rating possible. We would give a negative review if we could.
Our first contact with this company was during the early summer of 2015, when we asked [redacted] to look at our foundation. We asked for a ballpark estimate and told him we would not hold him to it. That estimate was between $40,000 and $60,000. We knew that would be very low, as the foundation was in bad disrepair. In August 2015, he gave us a "preliminary quote" of $94,525. Two months later, we got a quote of a little more than $138,000. In January of 2016, the quote went up to $153,000. The final, and fourth quote was in February 2016 of $184,190. Each of these was accompanied by an excuse that he needed more data from his concrete guy and his engineer. He still had not pinned down the cost of piers, concrete, and drilling after the final quote. Many excuses, escalating numbers, an insistence on additional engineering (which cost us $12,000) and investigation, but no final proposal, ever.
Nine months after we were first in contact, we thought the work might begin. Instead, we received the following email: we "would be able to start very soon and accomplish all the items on the list--demo, concrete/rebar grade beams, helicals, micropiles, and lift. But as mentioned the price is more." He went on to say that our architect's design (the less expensive design) "I can accomplish...but not the drilling of the 20' piers, I've had companies back out after seeing the site. I'm still at a standstill because of access and commitment." Somehow access and commitment were a problem for the less expensive solution but not for the more expensive one. At that point, we sought and immediately received a solid quote and start date within two weeks from [redacted]). By the time [redacted] got in touch with us again, the work was already underway.
We initially chose Foundation Repair of California from among other firms. Of that round of preliminary proposals, theirs, while not the lowest cost, seemed to be the most solid. We felt some loyalty toward them because they appeared to be working on our project. That loyalty was misplaced. We are grateful to [redacted] for providing a solid bid and start date, after all the delaying and dithering of Foundation Repair of California (FRCA).
As part of our initial vetting of this firm, we noted that they had an A+ from the [redacted]. We cannot understand how that is possible. We are now aware that our experience is very similar to that of another dissatisfied customer. Our experience was so bad that it has made us skeptical of the [redacted]'s review process.
