The roof was installed eleven years ago, April of 2005, with the warranty expiring April We offer a five year defect in workmanship warranty I offered to make roof repairs for a small fee, due to the fact the warranty had expired six years prior The [redacted] were not happy with that option and felt it should be done at no charge I have no record of The [redacted] calling multiple times regarding a leak and do not feel it is our responsibility to pay for repairs that another company performed, when we were very capable of fixing the very small repair I have attached a blank copy of our contract showing the Warranty Standard Roofing Company's staff work hard to make sure our customers are satisfied to the fullest, unfortunately, it is sometimes impossible to achieve that goal Thank you,Mark P [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below I never received any contact from Standard Roofing after the initial responseI was informed that they would look at the issue and get back with meThat was last FallI have never been informed that a technician had looked at the problemLet alone any explanation of the problemHence my second attempt at contacting the companyAfter the second attempt and no contact we have now arrived at this pointThe single shingle that has come loose is the same one that was originally repairedThis shingle is the one that I was told would "lay down in the Summer heat." It has not and I have watched it slowly come loose over the past few monthsThe company looked at the problem this week for the first time as far as I know I received a picture of the shingle in question that was taken from ground levelI find it amazing that this problem can be diagnosed from the ground Regards, [redacted]

In regards to [redacted] complaint, after speaking with [redacted] last fall, I sent my technician to his property to inspect the areas of his roof that Standard Roofing repaired The area [redacted] was talking about was a different area than the repairs Standard Roofing performed and I informed him of this The first time I met with ***, I explained to him that the shingles on his roof (which Standard Roofing did not install the original roof), were installed improperly The laminated portion of the shingles will be a problem and shingles will continue to slide, because the shingles were not nailed correctly I have attached a picture that was taken this morning (Tuesday, April 12, 2016) of the one shingle is he complaining about and it is below the area that Standard Roofing repaired last spring

RevDex.com: I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. It is interesting that Mark states that he has no knowledge of multiple calls regarding a leak, yet he states that he offered to make the repairs with a charge. He did not offer to make the repairs, but instead, on multiple occasions, stated that the leak was coming from somewhere other than our roof, behind our gutters, for example. This is a problem that has been ongoing for a number of years, some of which was prior to the end of the warranty period. We do not feel as though he validated our concern at that time, nor did he attempt to actually diagnose the source of the leak.He has communicated to us through multiple calls, over many years, and did not offer to repair our roof, as he did not feel that roof was the source of our leak.He has most recently communicated to us through text messages, where his response was quite rude. The most recent time that he has someone come out, he said he could repair one nail pop which was definitely not the reason for our leak.We did not expect a positive response from him, as Mark has continually failed to either be unresponsive or attempt to diagnose the source for our leak. While the BBB might not validate our concern with this business, please know that his inadequate response to customer concerns, and his poor customer service skills, we will gladly share with everyone. Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com spoke with the businessThe area they were contacted to repair is feet above when the laminate is coming off of The shingles the customer now has concerns withThere are no shingles falling off of this roof it is the laminate that is a part of a dimensional shingleThese come off due to improper nailing at the time a roof is installedThis business is not the one that installed the roof of made these nail linesThe business is will to come out and resolve this issue for the customer but there will be a charge attached to this because it is a repair of work done by a different businessMr. P*** said that the customer was notified of this charge before and he had not heard back from this customer until the complaint was filed with Revdex.com

I never received any contact from Standard Roofing after the initial response. I was informed that they would look at the issue and get back with me. That was last Fall. I have never been informed that a technician had looked at the problem. Let alone any explanation of the problem. Hence my second attempt at contacting the company. After the second attempt and no contact we have now arrived at this point. The single shingle that has come loose is the same one that was originally repaired. This shingle is the one that I was told would "lay down in the Summer heat." It has not and I have watched it slowly come loose over the past few months. The company looked at the problem this week for the first time as far as I know.  I received a picture of the shingle in question that was taken from ground level. I find it amazing that this problem can be diagnosed from the ground.
