Had spent about $1,000 if not more on a set of tires in October of 2019 and not even 3 months later ended up with 2 flats and was told that they weren't able to repair them so my grandfather had spent about $600 or so on two brand new tires just so I was able to get to my doctor's appointments and stuff. I had now just recently taken in a tire that was bought from them on an original rim from my 2012 *** and had asked them to patch up the slow leak that was occurring with the tire only for them to take an entire business day to tell me that there wasn't a way to patch the tire and that they'd have to completely replace it. When I dropped the tire on the rim there wasn't any cracks or anything on the rim and then the next day they also told me that they would have to get me to replace the rim as well because it was cracked. I had then asked for the tire and rim back and they only gave me the rim and said they had scrapped the tire after they had told me that they still had the tire for me to pick up. They had also failed to mention that in order to have warranty on the $1,000 set of tires there should have been a wheel alignment, only problem is that my truck didn't need a wheel alignment at the time of all of this.
I'm seeking the resolution of I would like the money that not only had I dumped in for tires that didn't last but money back for the tires that my grandfather had bought
Thank you for letting us know of your concerns with your recent service. The tires purchased under a different name in November were *** and met your needs at the time, fit your vehicle and were sold at a discounted sale price. It looks like a series of events led us to the situation we are in today.
1. The *** tire appears to have been run flat and unfortunately when it was not filled the liner was destroyed. When the vehicle was brought in we were unable to replace that tire on Road Hazard warranty due to the driving it while flat. We offered to replace the tire with a used tire at no charge to you.
2. We had documented at the time of the original changeover in November that the rims had some road rash on them. Looking at the rim when the gifted tire developed a slow leak we could see that a crack had developed in the rim which doesn't allow the tire to seal. These types of cracks are difficult to see and often found through a process of elimination.
3. Another person associated with you and the vehicle had picked up the rim/parts prior to you last visit August 11, 2020
While a wheel alignment is necessary to maintain the tread warranty it is not the reason why the warranty protection does not cover replacement tires in this situation.
To resolve this for you at the lowest possible cost we had ordered a used wheel from ***. We are still willing to work with you on the price and installation of that wheel. Please reach out to us at your convenience before the end of the month so that we can work out a solution and get your vehicle back on the road.
