Fountain Valley Mechanical Reviews (2)

I am done with FVM Scheduled service weeks ago, guy comes on on schedule Monday (a week later) and just looks around and then reschedules What the heck? They come back Wednesday (with no notice) and send guys (to do a one guy job) Keep in mind, I am just relocating and upgrading thermostats on a working system This is not rocket science They pull the wire, but can't get the heat pump working correctly They did the same thing at our other location, but we didn't find out the heat pump was screwed up until fall Now they can't get me scheduled to come back and finish the job until another week They supposedly need electrical schematics from Carrier, but they never heard of the Internet or looked at the schematics label on the unitsTalked to owner, he doesn't care Go somewhere else that has experts, I could have did what they did in 1/the time, but hired, supposed experts, to do it

October 2012: Called for service. Repair done costing over $500.
November 2012: Called back for same issue. The same tech came back and performed a repair he should have done in the first place in October and costed more than $2000. When I questioned the tech about the previous $500 repair, he became agitated and his demeanor was insulting. I could tell he didn't like me figuring out he made a mistake.

I called [redacted] about the issue and he said he would take care of it.
He said the tech should have made an adjustment to the bill. The tech said he didn't know anything about it and there was no adjustment made. I felt like I was getting the run around by the tech and the owner putting it off on each other like it was rehearsed.

Our office has no evidence of any credit given for the original worthless service costing more than $500.

February 2015: An old wound was reopened. The same equipment Fountain Valley Mechanical installed in 2012 failed. I very reluctantly called them back but I thought there may be some warranty coverage. No warranty whatsoever and I was told the reason the equipment failed was due to neglected maintenance. So I was instead given another estimate for more than $2000.

While the tech was off getting the parts, someone I called for another bid shows up. Within a few seconds he says the part failed because it was installed wrong by Fountain Valley Mechanical back in 2012.

So to sum it all up, I never got refunded for misdiagnosed service work.
I got more work done incorrectly that cost over $2000.
Finally they came back and misdiagnosed their mistake and were ready to charge me another $2000 to fix it.

Fountain Valley Mechanical did replace the equipment but still refuses to refund the costs incurred due to the initial misdiagnosis in October 2012.

I don't feel like this company has qualified people who care about doing a good job. They are dishonest, careless, insultingly arrogant and make costly mistakes for which they don't care to take responsibility for unless they are caught red handed.

I gave the owner several opportunities to make things right and he just couldn't get there. He has many excuses for why it's too late for him to finally do the right thing.
He says I should have been more persistent back then.

I shouldn't have needed to be anything at all, then or now.
