Normally, I don't write reviews but I thought I would share my very pleasant experience with Maye Heating and Cooling The A/C went out in a rental property I own in xxxxx and the Property Management company, xxxxx Properties, who will be smeared in a different review, spent a month getting a quote for $4,to replace it I told them that I wasn't going to be authorizing any repairs without at least two itemized estimates Then they gave me hours to agree to their one non-itemized estimate I called Maye and within hours, they'd contacted the tenants, been to the property, and given me a detailed, itemized estimate for $6,for a xxxxx A/C AND heating system with a 10-year warranty, PLUS 5-year zero-interest financing But the best part is that they installed it the next week The sweltering tenants were relieved Everyone I talked to at Maye was polite, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful They provided the kind of service that most companies used to provide and few do now It's easy to forget to praise people for service this professional and painless when fighting with everyone else The house I live in has a xxxxx heat pump and I'll be calling Maye to straighten out my nightmare ducting

Air conditioner failed in JulyCalled a local company, May's Heating & CoolingTechnician replaced a 45/volt condenserBill was $for the service call and $for the condenser, total $After technician left I looked up the cost of this condenser and found it routinely sells for $to $dollarsCalled May's back to see if there was a mistakeLady told me that 1) the part came with a year warranty, and 2) they had to cover overhead costsWhy would I care about warranty on a 22$ part that took minutes to replace? What was the $service charge if not to cover overhead?
I called a second heating and air company and found that their charge would have been $service charge and $plus tax for the part
I filed a complaint with the Revdex.com and was told they sent a letter to May's for responseNo response was givenThis is unfair business practice and I would not recommend using this company

Maye Heating and Cooling of *** was just greatThey are a family run business who have been in business here in Charlotte since They have been servicing our *** units since our house was built ( )But the units usually worked fine until recent years when they just started wearing out (after 1/years)They have always been prompt to come out and always did great workThe office manager is a pleasure to work with, and knows my voiceShe calls me by name when I would have to call them, and after introducing myself she would say"Oh, I know you, Mr ***"
When we decided to replace the entire air conditioning and furnace units, Greg P***, their Sales Rep, came out at my wife's and my convenience and he was great to work withAfter a productive meeting at my home with Greg, we settled on the units that were best for us and at a good priceThe workmen came on the appointed day right on time, and were very personable and professionalThey were Teddy, Chris, and Chad and they worked quickly, quietly, and cleaned up both days they were here and took away the old units and debrisThey explained things to us and answered all our questions
The new units are quiet and more energy efficientMy monthly heating and cooling bills will go down so this is a way to slowly recoup some of the price of the unitsOur first cooling bill with the new units was $less than the previous monthWe have been enjoying the nice cool air through this particularly hot summer since the units were installed
I would highly recommend Maye Heating & Cooling to anyoneYou will be rewarded with good, old fashioned service and skilled, courteous service techniciansThey wear coverings over their shoes and put down blankets on exposed carpet areas
We are long-time customers of Maye and will continue to use them in the future
( Although with the new units installed now, we probably won't have to ! )
