Four Corners Food Mart

A deposit in the amount of $2,750.00 ($800.00 deposit, $800.00 1st month rent, 1,000.00 Deposit on equipment, $150.00 use of Trash/dumpster) was given to[redacted] "[redacted]" (dont really if[redacted] is his name or not he told me his name was[redacted], but on lease he has [redacted]) on January 28, 2015 by[redacted] for the rental property of [redacted], which was to be for my girlfriend [redacted]). [redacted] gave[redacted] the money and asked him for a receipt and he said he would get the receipt and he will be right back, I thought that he was going next door to (Four Corners Food Mart, which he owns) to get the receipt, but when he came back he said he was in a hurry to pick his daughter up and to get the key for the restaurant from the store next door and he never mentioned the receipt. Every time we asked him about the receipt he changed the conversation. He asked us to come over and sign the lease and once we got there he did not have our receipt and once we looked at the lease he did not have on the lease the correct amount of money that we paid him. He only had on the lease that we paid him $1,000.00 deposit for the equipment and appliances and also for security and maintenance. He also had on the lease that the restaurant should be open from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. every day. I did not agree with him telling us the days/time we should be open, if were paying to lease the building, we should be able to open anytime we get ready. We asked him for our money back and he said that we had a verbal agreement. I tried calling him and texting him. He would not answer the phone nor texts, the only way I could contact him was to call him from another phone number and we could not get anywhere with him. Upon speaking with others about the restaurant I hear that the previous owners are in court with him. I think that he has done this before to others & he thinks that he can keep doing this to others.
