This seems to be a misunderstanding about the type of vaccine that was administeredOur practice has recently set a policy of not administering vaccinations that contain Leptospirosis to puppies under the age of weeks. This is due to the incidences of some
puppies having vaccination reactions to the Leptospirosis component of the vaccine. The puppies presented for the visit were weeks of age. Our printed vaccination schedule however showed that we have (in the past) given that vaccination at weeks of ageUnfortunately, the vaccination schedule had not been updated since this new policy took effectState regulations require an examination of a patient before an initial vaccination can be administered. The $invoice total includes the costs the examination and the vaccination of eleven week old puppies, with a vaccination that does not contain the leptospirosis component in itThis policy remains in effect to prevent unwanted vaccination reactions in puppies under weeks of ageA refund of $can be obtained by the client by calling our practice and requesting a refund on her credit card
