I was burned in the hotel by a faulty taped cord. Which came apart and shocked me and burned my hand.My husband and I stayed in the hotel. When we first went to the room for the night we could smell drugs in the hallway. Mentioned it to the desk guy and he did nothing. We just went to our room to sleep. I use a sleep apnea machine. I had plugged it in before going to sleep. During the night many guest were awaken by a guest banging on the walls outside our door screaming for his girlfriend. Went on for what seemed a long time. Then finally the desk person came and told the guy he could smell the drugs and if he gave him 500 bucks he would not call the police. So never slept much at all because of all the noise going on outside our room. Got up in the morning and just wanted to get the heck out of there. Went to unplug my machine and the lamp cord was right above mine. Also this taped cord was between the mattress and the wall. When I pulled my out the other one sparked really bad and shocked me and burned my hand. It also turned the wall and the sheet black. My husband went down and told the guy at the desk and he called the manager. The manager told my husband he was busy but would call him back that same day. Well he did not. I have called five times and sent two e-mails and have never talked to the manager. We feel like he is just ignoring us. The guy at the desk said they lost so much money that night because of the guy in the hallway. I was burned there and he would not even return my room fee. It is like they don't care at all that I was shocked by a house current and burned. Desired SettlementI feel I should have my room fee refunded and be given something for my pain and suffering for this burn. They should have not had a lamp blacked taped behind a bed. If I would have moved wrong during the night it could have been the whole bed that burned and me.Business Response we were not aware of any problem we have contacted Mrs. [redacted] and we have refunded her the room we are further investigating any problems with the room she stayed in we are not aware of any injury. no injury was reported or seen Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I notified the hotel right away when I was shocked so saying they were not aware is a lie. They have been sent pictures of not only the cord and the burns on my hand and sheet and wall. I have personally called that hotel five times to talk with the manager and have never heard back from him until he got the letter from the Revdex.com. We are still in negotiations and nothing has been settled at this time. They did say they were going to refund the 30 bucks for the room. I was told the manager was talking to the owner and they would call for a resolution. So we at this time unsettled. Final Business Response I was pleased to hear that you were joking about the $1000 you wanted for pain and suffering. We have issued your full room refund. It does take 7 to 10 days to hit your account. I am sorry your experience was so unpleasant. We have been in business as a family run business since 1983. We rely on return customers as we are small and it is difficult to compete with the big casino corporations. We do have a great repor with our customers. This is the first time in 32 years that someone has accused us of being liars and the first time anyone accused us of an injury. The hotel clerk who talked to you is a very nice young man of integrity. I could not in good conscious accuse him of lying. The information in my accounting to you is his written statement of what transpired. He has no interest to gain or lose for him to make up a story. It is also the managers statement of what he found in the room. He responded to the call from the hotel clerk, which he made immediately after you left the hotel desk. As for the integrity of Four Jacks and myself, I don't think you could find one person in Jackpot who would say I lie. Most of the homeless and transients that end up in Jackpot are sent to Four Jacks for help. We help more than a dozen such people with gas, food, hotel rooms, and sometimes just a cup of Joe every month. We are not by any means perfect. Occasionally, we miss wake up calls, foul up reservations, miss condiments in rooms, but we are consciously focused on customer satisfaction. We want to be informed of problems, and that is why our family lives on the Four Jacks property. We are accessible. Because we have done so for 32 years, now my children are involved in the business, and they too live on the property. My son is the general manager.There is hardly a day that passes where I do not see him out helping someone. Just yesterday, he used a coat hanger to open a 2004 Dodge pickup for an older couple that had locked the keys inside the truck. The nearest help for them was 50 miles away. They were so grateful, they offered to pay him 40 dollars. He refused. It is sometimes difficult to manage the challenges of owning a hotel casino. There have been a few unhappy guests over 32 years, but very few. We do not want any! I have refunded the full amount of the room, and invite you to stop in the next time you are passing here and ask for the owner.Final Consumer Response Here it is 6/08/15 and again have said false things to me. He said he was refunding my room and still have not done so. I am very disappointed in this company and the dishonesty. I got burned and they know it. They have tried to cover it up. As a business owner myself I am very disappointed in the way they have tried and tried to make it go away.

I made 2 reservations at this hotel for 12/31/2013, I was not given a reservation no. or told the cancellation policy. On 12/25/2013 at 11:07 am, I called and cancelled both reservations, again given no cancellation no. I specifically ask if he had cancelled both and was told yes. On 1/8/2014 I seen I had been charged $97.20 on my card. I called and talk to [redacted] the MGR. He told me I had not cancelled so was charged. If I had proof that I called He would look into it, was irritate on the phone with me that I cost him money. I have the proof, I found on my cell phone bill the call on 12/25/2013 at 11:07 am for 3 min, when I called back to talk to him (5 different times that day) the desk clerk told me that he wouldn't talk to me, that I would have to take it up with my bank. [redacted] also told me that only 1 room was guaranteed (the most expensive). I don't understand why only 1 was guaranteed when 2 reservations made at the same time.Desired SettlementI would like to be refunded the $97.20 that I was charged.
