Review: My boyfriend and I were invited to a wedding and the hotel that was chosen was the Four Points Sheraton in [redacted]. According to the invitation rooms were reserved by the bride and groom. When we arrived at the hotel the hotel was in deplorable conditions. They were clearly remodeling but people should not have been permitted to stay in the hotel. What follows is a copy of the email I first sent to the hotel on May [redacted]. I would also like to add that on May [redacted] the website said the hotel opens on June [redacted] and currently it says it now opens on July [redacted].Hi my name is [redacted] and my boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Four points in [redacted] exit * off of route **. A friend of mine got married and this is the hotel that she choose. How this was even possible is beyond me. Never have I stayed at a hotel that was in such deplorable conditions. To start off our stay we arrived at 5:40pm knowing the reception began at 6:30pm and there was a shuttle that would bring us to [redacted]. We promptly parked the car and made our way to the nearest entrance and around the labyrinth of a hotel to the alcove front desk. When we arrived at the front desk there was a notice that for the wedding we were attending the shuttle left at 6:00pm be downstairs sharply at 5:45.As we attempted to check in we were lucky enough to watch the shuttle pull off. So I politely asked the "girl" at the desk how we were supposed to get to the wedding if the shuttle left she paused and looked at me and said "Do youhave the number you can call them we don't have anything to do with that". Now I don't know about you but I have never stayed at a hotel that does not offer customer assistance, most hotels have a concierge and that is their main job. I then looked up the number and made arrangement for the shuttle to come back and pick us up along with a group of other people that missed the first one. At this point it is neither here nor there as to who dropped the ball. What does matter is the front desk girls reaction. So now we are waiting for the shuttle and we proceeded to check in. She gave us keys to our room and we took ALL of our belongings down to our room. The walk was extremely unpleasant between the exposed wires in the hall and the over powering smell of paint throughout the place. No outside doors were locked so the sense of security was right out the window. 95% of the room we walked passed were propped open by the top lock and might I add there wasnoRestaurant or bar. We finally got to our room and much to our surprise the key did not work. We quickly (with all our belongings) made our way back up to the desk and no sooner than we said "Our keys do not work" she reached under the desk and pulled out another key and said" Here is the EMERGENCY key it opens every room in the hotel". So my first question is how many people have this emergency key and on top of all the outside doors into the hotel not being locked now they are giving out emergency keys. With keys in hand we get back to our room with ALL of our stuff and low and behold it works. I do have to say the room was fine beside the 45 minutes it took for the water to get even remotely warm and the fact the neither the TV or phone were plugged in. To add insult to injury I decided to write this letter and when I pull the hotel up the website stated that the hotel opens June **,2015. I really am not surprised at why that would be. I am lookingfor some sort of refund because I would have NEVER chosen this at first sight and I am almost positive that neither you nor family member would stay here if given the choice. Absolutely unacceptable. I look forward to hearing from you on this matter and do thank you in advance.Desired Settlement: We would like to be compensated for our incovenience.
