Our furnace stopped providing heat The fan worked My wife informed me she contacted Reliable who performed our annual furnace maintenance in Sep for the last four years Based on knowledge, I suspected the ignitor would need replacing We have nothing but praise for the service technician (Kelly) Finding the replacement part cracked, he promised to return between and hrs the next day with a new part and ensured the furnace operated until his return He was prompt, courteous and replaced the hot furnace ignitor We have no problems with the service, including the service call fee and labour I do have a problem with part pricing which was $and could have been up to $according to Reliable ( I apparently got a deal) Spoke to Reliable, the local Carrier office and Carrier home office They cannot or would not provide the actual price they pay for this part [redacted] We do not know Reliable's local part source [redacted] I am not a tech but this issue is not rocket science since most of the time the problem with a furnace not firing up is the ignitor, and the first item an experienced tech would look for Safety procedures in effect! [redacted] Perhaps this industry should review their pricing policy for parts [redacted] A Bravo Zulu to Kelly!
