Four Seasons Home Repair

Review: Mr [redacted] was contacted regarding a leaky roof of my home in delaware. He was supposed to repair the area he identified as the problem. He provided an invoice dated 9/18/2013 that stated a total charge for repairs of 277.09. The invoice also described a one year warranty on labor work performed and stated if any water leaks accrue to the areas serviced and repaired they will be serviced with no cost to home owner up to 9/18/14. Within a week of repair it rained and the roof leaked in the same spot as before. I called [redacted] who was in Florida at the time and said he would send someone over to look at it. No one ever showed up and every time it rained we got water inside. After repeated unreturned phone calls to [redacted] we decided to have a new roof put on. I left in mid October for my winter residence in Florida. I have tried many times since then to contact [redacted]. I have left many messages but he will not have the common decency to return my phone calls.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $235.00. That is the amount paid for repair minus the materials of $42.09.

Review: A contract dated April 12, 2013 was entered into with this description:Replace roof shingles with architectural 30 year shinglesReplace all flashing, step flashing and install ice shield flashingNew vent pipe boots installedDumpsterJob clean up and haulRepair plywood as necessary [redacted] this was added by owner when the down payment of $4,025 was sent.A new layer of shingles was put over the old, broken ones instead of a tear off and "replacement". The flashings, step flashings and vent pipe boots were not new ones. There don't appear to be any ice shield flashings installed. No rotten plywood was replaced and there had been considerable leaks in the roof. The ridge vents were not replaced on the two roofs. The shingles are not aligned correctly, especially near the back porch area. We live out of town. When we saw the roof for the first time, we expressed dissatisfaction. [redacted],owner, tried to tell us that the air circulation had something to do with the work done or not done. He did not call back for months and has made no efforts to reconcile our issues with the roof on this house. I have had another roofing contractor inspect and evaluate the roofing job. His opinions are expressed above, not just the owner's guess as to the quality of work done.Desired Settlement: To solve this issue we could settle for:1. A complete refund of the $6,475.00 paid for the roofing.OR2. Four Seasons Home Repair paying a contractor of our choosing to tear off the garage roof and rotten plywood in the garage roof. Use new flashing, new step flashing, new vent pipe boots, new ice shield flashing and new ridge vents in the garage roof area. Add new ridge venting across the main house roof.
