From the description Mr*** sent in, sounds as though the park power he was using at the time had a ground or neutral power
issueThe volt system in the coach could not cause a shockThe issue with the batteries would most likely be the result of a damaged converter from the park power issueWhether this would occur days after purchase or the last day of the warranty, an outside source causing damage to the coach would not be covered under warranty, but would be considered an insurance claim or the responsibility of the ownerWe suggest you take the coach to a service center to determine the extent of damageIf it would be considered the fault of a Thor covered component, Thor will revisit the claims to make a determination for coverage

The complaint may be closed because the cause was found and Thor honored its warranty; but for the record:
The dealer, after inspecting the coach, found multiple wires not secured in the power inletA huge construction defect by ThorThis caused people to get shocked! Unacceptable if you ask me

I just filed this claim with THOR:

VIN # (REMOVED FOR PRIVACY REASONS)
MILEAGE: 9,300

Purchased brand new from Camping World on 04/27/2015

I have a 2015 Thor Windsport 34F. The FURNACE on this motorhome has been built with a manufacturer's defect. There is a vent on the furnace outside that allows water to come into the furnace.

It was raining, and water leaked inside my furnace, and caused my circuit board to fry. I called a technician, who replaced my circuit board and it cost me $425. I am in Georgia, where it gets cold in the winter time, and I had NO CHOICE but to replace that board so that I could have heat.

I tried to file the claim through my extended warranty, through Good Sam Extended Warranty, and they DECLINED the claim because of a water leak.

This RV is brand new. It's only 18 months old and it is unmodified and not customized in anyway. I feel THOR is responsible for this because the way that you built the motorhome is allowing rainwater to get into the motorhome.

I had this furnace serviced in April of 2016 by Camping World of Kissimmee, FL. I paid hundreds of dollars then for furnace maintenance, and now I just had to pay another $425 for this service call.

I am very upset about this. The next time it rains here, which will be next week, this circuit board could get fried again because there is no way to stop rainwater from getting in there.

What do I do? I'm very upset as a customer of THOR.

I wish to be reimbursed for $325 of my $425 invoice, since my extended warranty would have covered all except a $100 deductible.

Shawn W.

I spoke to [redacted] from Thor one minute before opening this email. He wants me to go to an Auto Zone or O'Reilly's so the store can check the code for the check engine light. BS
Unfortunately for me, the tv's function. That is, they power up, they receive an over the air signal (antenna). And, they will scan 8 out of 74 channels using cable.
So, the tv's are not covered under warranty. OUTRAGEOUS !!!!!!!
And, [redacted] agreed with me that to sell a [redacted] + motorhome with such an inferior component, was ridiculous. And, that some kind of notice should be given to buyers so they know before they drive off the lot "you better buy a satellite or you won't get to see anything".
Unfortunately, I am STUCK with this [redacted]
Thor, if you think I will be quiet about this [redacted] you are WRONG. My daughter is a reporter for a large newspaper in OKC and my cousins wife is an attorney is Tulsa.
I have other things I would like to say, but I know the Revdex.com will cut them out.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 12, 2017/01/16) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
"Televisions work as designed" That means when one hits the power button, the tv's power on. The 8 channels that scan are all local channels, and the picture is terrible. If the sporting event I want to watch is on ESPN or FSSW, I'm the out of luck. There are 4 tv's in this motorhome. Why should I spend [redacted] for cable boxes? Why didn't Thor install tv's in a [redacted] motor home that can receive a signal??!!
I used a converter box in [redacted] Ok and the tv's [redacted] didn't receive half the channels that other RV's/motorhomes in the area received. We brought a 32" tv from home that is at least 8 years old. We connected it to the shore cable, and get at least 40 channels and the picture is perfect.
I'm already paying [redacted] for pmt and insurance. Why should I buy more pieces to make the tv's work?!?!? Give it up, Thor. I'm not asking for 72" curved 4K HD tv.
Did I mention I tried to email Seiki, but, to complete a work order, one has to fill in serial # of tv. Guess where the brackets are mounted on the back of the tv? Right over the paper with the serial #. smh
I told [redacted] if Thor is going to sell a [redacted] motorhome with tv's that require a satellite or extra cable box to function with more than 8 channels, you need to tell the customer!!!!!!
NO!!! I do not accept their response
Final Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2017/01/18) */
All warrantable concerns at this time have been addressed. A document from the Federal Communication Commission is being mailed to Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] that helps explain the cable provider encryption and why a cable box from that provider is required to view most channels. Below is a list of the TV Serial numbers for their coach:
32" LED Seiki TV- Model #SE32HYM, Serial #32A0MXXXXXXSAXXXXX
32" LED Seiki TV- Model #SE32HYM, Serial #32A0mXXXXXXSAXXXXX
40" LED Seiki TV- Model #SE40FYM, Serial #403DC0M0A553BAXXXXXXXX
Please contact us in the future if you have any concerns that need addressed under the terms of our published limited warranty.
