Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below I figured that Carrie would find a way to dismiss the fact that she made a mistake A person with a size hips does not fit into a size dress - that is just common sense I would not expect the vendor of the dress to argue with someone who sells their product! Based on my visit to her store and the way that she treated us with regards to the way the dress fit - I expected nothing less I see that there are other complaints about sizing from this store with the Revdex.com I still would like a refund for the dress that is too small for my daughter and of no use to me Any other resolution will not satisfy me I will make sure that the facts are known that the boutique does not value their customers and will- under no circumstances - admit that they made a mistake Regards, [redacted] ***

Maybe she is just not accustomed to a fitted dress? [redacted] dress is fitted through the bust and waist which is what is appealing/feminine about this style She can take the sides out up to a total of 1/2", but I can't imagine that would be necessary The ruched skirt on the lace dresses offers between 4-5" wiggle room You were wise not to order a size based on her hips (which would have been a size 12) as it would have been very large on her through bust/waist and unalterable Hope this helps!Best, [redacted] *** [redacted] Please let me know if there is anything else you need.Best Regards,Carrie Karibo

Dear ***,
I apologize for the delayed response, but I was out of town and returned only
to face a family emergency
I have been in communication with these clients over the course of the past few
weeks regarding this issueWhen I returned to the boutique, I was surprised to
see this was still an issue as my coworker and myself thought it had been
resolved with the follow up visit hereI believe you have all the
documentation of the events that have led us to today, but I am not sure
exactly which, so forgive me if I am redundant
My client and her daughter ordered a dress on 1/26/I took her measurements
pulling the tape snug, but not tight, as advisedWhen comparing her
measurements with the designer's size chart, her bust was an 8, her waist a 6,
and her hip a little over a We decided the size was ok because her dress
has a fuller skirt, so there was flexibility in size regarding the hip
measurementThere is a note on the size chart that explains that there is more
wiggle room in the hip when ordering a fuller skirtWe were further validated
since the exact style she chose to order is sampled in a size in our
boutiqueWe carry a variety of sample sizes, so she may have tried on a size at some point, but we do not carry any other size of the dress she chose in our boutiqueMy
client was involved in choosing her size as you can see from the initials on
her contract. Every order is placed with a signed contract, so I can
ensure that what a client expects to be received is delivered correctlyI do
not recall our exact conversation; however, the only reason I can think that I
said it may be a little big was in the waistline since she measured a size
thereI imagine it was my way giving a warning that alterations still may be
necessary
My client's dress arrived and she was called on 4/29/She picked it up on
5/11/for the 6/6/weddingUnfortunately, her daughter did not try the
dress on until out of town the day before the weddingHer school and workplace
are both less than miles from the boutiqueAll of our dresses are
made-to-order and are therefore non-refundable; however, if something were wrong with the dress, I would have done everything I could to fix it before the weddingOnce I received
a call after the wedding that her dress was too small, I was concerned so I set
up a meeting for them to come in to assess her situation before I went out of
townMy client, her daughter, and a friend came in on 6/22/I re-measured her
daughter and her measurements had not changedShe then tried on the dress,
which in my and my co-worker's opinion fit her like a gloveHer neckline was
lying flat, the shoulder seams lied flat down in the middle of her shoulders,
it was not showing any ripples or straining of the fabricThere was tension
when zipping where the horizontal waistband seams come together, which is
common due to the amount of and type of fabric in each of those areasThis dress is fitted in the bodice and loose in the skirtI
did not see any indication in fit that the dress fit her tighter than how it
was made to beShe left the boutique with the dress and was very amicableI believed she agreed and was satisfied with further explanation of the fitI have a
disclaimer in my policies, and in addition, try to verbally let clients know
that even though the dress is made-to-order, alterations are almost always
necessaryI honestly would not have hoped for a better scenario in that nothing needed to be adjusted to her dressThis is why I was very surprised to receive another email from my client upon my return.
I am disappointed that her daughter was uncomfortable and/or did not like it
once it arrived, and regret that she did not wear it for her desired occasion
There is about 1/2" of fabric in the seams if she would like to have some
taken out in alterations to give her more comfortSince I do not carry stock
in these dresses, I am unable to take this dress back as I am not able to
return it to my designer
I have scanned a copy of my client's contract; as well as, the designer's size
chart for your review
I hope this explanation and proof of documentation are appropriate for this
complaintPlease let me know if you need anything elseThank you for your
time
Respectfully,
Carrie K***

The receipt is on the contract - right side.  Shows paid in full.  I am also attaching the designers size chart that clearly shows that a size 8 would never fit [redacted]When we signed the contract - we took for granted that the person who decided a size 8 (Carrie made that choice - not us) knew that they were ordering the correct size.Thank you for your consideration.I will send the size chart in another email because I can only send one at at time.

Dear [redacted],The size 8 dress fit my client like a glove and exactly as it was designed to be. I consult on size based on my knowledge and experience, but also involved my client with the understanding that the final decision of the size ordered is their responsibility. This is written in bold and initialed by my client in the middle of her contract. The designer's size chart notes that the fuller skirted dresses have wiggle room in the hip. Based on my client's response to my letter, I further reached out to the designer for more specifics on the exact dress in question. Please see my email and my designer's response below:On Jul 16, 2015, at 11:18 AM, Carrie Karibo wrote:Hi [redacted],I

chose to order a size 8 based off of her measurements and in accordance
with the store's sample size. They are concerned the dress is too tight.
They came in to visit me after the wedding had already taken place and
Julie and I thought it fit her just the way it was made to be. On your
size chart, it states that there is more room in the fuller skirts, like
the ruched skirt. Will you please let me know how much more room there
is from your size chart in the hip area for this particular skirt?Thank you very much,[redacted]334 West Benson StreetCincinnati, Ohio 45215T: ###-###-####F: ###-###-####[redacted]Hi Carrie!Based on her measurements, she is a size 8 in [redacted] Dress with Ruched Skirt.  Actually, the dress should fit perfectly!  Maybe she is just not accustomed to a fitted dress?  [redacted] dress is fitted through the bust and waist which is what is appealing/feminine about this style.  She can take the sides out up to a total of 1/2", but I can't imagine that would be necessary.  The ruched skirt on the lace dresses offers between 4-5" wiggle room.  You were wise not to order a size based on her hips (which would have been a size 12) as it would have been very large on her through bust/waist and unalterable.  Hope this helps!Best,[redacted] [redacted]Please let me know if there is anything else you need.Best Regards,Carrie Karibo

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
In her response Carrie Karibo admits that the hip size was measured at a little over a 12.  This alone shows that she ordered the dress too small by at least 2 sizes.  We expected that since she does this for a living that she would order the correct size.  I also took the dress to a seamstress and there is no additional material - they would not even attempt to alter it - they sent us away.  I would like a full refund of the purchase price of the dress since it was ordered too small and is of no use to me.  [redacted] did like the dress - that is why she ordered it - but she could not wear it because it was too small - she was in tears during the small amount of time that she had it on when we returned to the boutique.  Carrie Karibo should not have been surprised by the fact that I was unhappy - she clearly rebuked any comments that I made about the dress being too small when I was at her boutique.  I left very dissatisfied.  Please keep in mind the response from Carrie Karibo - her hips measured a little over a 12 - and she ordered an 8.
