Fox Rent A Car, Inc. Reviews (10)

I reserved an Intermediate SUV from Fox at the SFO location beginning 10/and returning 10/(4pm estimated drop off)At pick up at SFO, I stood in line for minutesWhen I got up to the counter, I was told that Fox did not have my reserved vehicle available"To save time", an upgrade was offered to a Dodge ChargerSince I already waited the better part of an hour just to get up to the counter, I acceptedI was given estimated charges of $I picked up the keys, inspected the rough looking exterior of the car in a dark garage (bravo, Fox), and marked the spots that I saw on the exterior of the carI got in the car to leave, & saw that some white substance had previously sprayed/dried on the roof of the interiorThere was no Fox employee to be found, as they were extremely busy, so I chose to drive out to my destination in Santa Rosa - now at least an hour over my ETAAs I got out into the light, the substance appeared to be a bodily fluid of some sortDisgustingI had hoped Fox had a satellite office in Santa Rosa, as I would have gladly exchanged the vehicleFast forward to Monday 10/5, my return dateI estimated the car would be returned at 4pm local timeIn reality, it was returned at 5:46pm local timehour, minutes later than my ESTIMATED return timeI would have thought that was no big deal, but instead Fox charged me for an additional day! My grand total was $I addressed the disgusting spray of something on the interior roof with the Fox employee that checked it back in, & he clearly did not care about itHe even added "who knows what that is, we don't look up"Seriously?
True to form, when I sent Fox Customer Service an e-mail with my complaint, I received ZERO responseI received a third party survey request, which I completed, but to this day have not been contacted by Fox to address my complaintsHorrible customer service, horrible cars, & overchargingSTAY AWAY!!

The people at the pickup and drop-off airport locations were niceHowever, the desk attendant did not change my address when I provided him a copy of my photo IDI know I provided it to him because my current license's expiration date matches what I have on my rental agreement and those matchThey instead left an address in place I haven't lived at in years
I drove through a toll booth and Fox provided the bad address to the toll company, a They had it on file from a time I rented from them beforeUnknown to me, I was getting penalties and fines racked up under my name because the toll company thought I was avoiding them
When I called the customer service area months after I rented the car, the ladies who answered the phone tried getting me off the phone and when I asked to speak with a supervisor they hung up on me when I insisted I would not wait for a callbackThere was never any apology for the inconvenience or their wrong-doing and a supervisor has yet to call me back
I was going to fax in a complaint but the number from their website is disconnectedPhone wait times were often 30-mins to get someone on the phoneI would never do business again with this companyThe car I rented was as factory and as basic as you could get as wellPay a couple of extra dollars for a nice car and better quality people to help youNo surprise this company has an F rating with Revdex.com and hundreds of un-responded complaintsThe market will eventually weed them out of consideration

This was the absolute worst rental car experience in my life, and a total scam of a companyI hope that by writing this review it will 1.) Steer other people away from this awful company and 2.) Shed some light to higher authorities about these questionable business practices
I guess you get what you pay for (Fox was marginally less than the other companies, but it's absolutely worth it to just go with an accredited company!) I had no idea a business could stay afloat with this horrible of practices The Fox pickup location at Denver airport was out of the way, filthy, and very poorly run Besides that, they make you sign all kinds of contracts saying you "won't sue them" (I should have just taken the loss and walked away then!) Upon renting the car, the lady taking my payment said, "it's a Corolla parked out there" and waved generally to the parking lot I had to manually unlock (because mine wasn't equipped with a remote, which I've never heard of with a rental car) Corollas before I found the correct one, which was parked halfway across the parking lot Upon getting to it, I found that it had been in an accident and was covered in scratches In a hurry to get to my family reunion, I didn't want to take the time to wait in the customer service line AGAIN (I had to wait over minutes the first time), so I had the guy sign off on the car and left
Upon returning, there was nobody to help check in the car (the only guy available said he was dealing with someone else and that we'd have to wait 20-minutes till he was available.) Hesitantly we left after taking picture of the damage report, because we had to catch our plane
When I got home, a week later I received a bill for the tolls we incurred during our trip, which totaled $ WITH A $"ADMINISTRATION FEE" TACKED ON FROM FOX RENT-A-CAR I am still in the process of fighting that
Please take my advice and stay far, far away from Fox Rent-A-Car!!!!!!!!

Horrible Service and whatever they quote you for a price....add at least another bucks Rented from their LAX offsite location Waited over twenty minutes just to speak to someone at the counter....not enough help for all the customers After I did speak to the counter help, was sent to the car pick up area and waited minutes to get a car Had to ask three different people about my car They didnt have what I reserved and gave me something bigger than I wanted and then tried to charge me for it Horrible service and attitude from employees Lots of hidden fees too Had I know all that upfront I wold have gone elsewhere Complained to Fox after my trip and was able to get some money back but still paid way too much I still feel ripped off

We booked a rental car for a week on Fox's website about a week before our trip. When we arrived at the airport, the associate behind the counter rudely told us that they didn't have any cars and we were out of luck and had to wait around the airport for at least two hours. Everyone was very rude and unwilling to help or accommodate. They told us that many other websites rent cars for them and there's no limit to how many cars can be rented whether or not the cars are available. Corporate said they would upgrade our car, but we would have to wait even LONGER to get the nicer car. I will never be using Fox again and I will be sure to tell others about how horrible this experience has been.

Waited almost 2 hours to get my rental car on a Wed evening... many others waited too, my passenger seat was broken, passenger sat in the floor. Absolutely ridiculous. Customer service a joke, guys laughing when customers complained. I see so many complaints on Yelp and this site, many unresolved. The city/government needs to get involved if company won't fix the prob.

Bad experience. They mistakenly said I returned the car a week late and charged me for it. I had to follow up multiple times to get it resolved. Whoever had actually had the car a week after I returned it got a speeding ticket via a red light camera. I had to work with Scottsdale PD to get that dismissed. Fox charged me a $40 fee for getting the ticket which I never actually got. I had to contact them multiple times to get that fee removed. I am disputing that with my card company instead of waiting for the Fox response.

I rented from FOX at Denver International Airport a midsized 4x4 to take into the mountains skiing. (Jeep Cherokee or similar) The price I found at economybookings.com was very reasonable and I paid in advance. My experience:
1/2 hr wait for a shuttle.
Bait and switch to a cuv WITHOUT 4X4!
When I questioned why I wasn't getting what I paid for they said I could spend more money for a larger suv that had 4x4.
While we were in Denver it snowed 14" and in the mountains it snowed every single day. They have laws requiring either 4x4, or snow tires, or chains in the mountains when it snows like this. Besides being unsafe, the fines for a violation are hefty.
The FOX agent knew these laws, knew I was heading to the mountains, and knew a major storm was predicted. The car he rented to us didn't even have an ice scraper! And the check engine light was on most of the week!
STAY AWAY!!!

This has been the worst car rental experience I've ever had. Their airport shuttle flat-out isnt running. We waited for more than an hour and ended up taking a cab to their office for $19. Their website provides no info. Their phone system is a dead end. I know because everyone in our party spent the waiting time running through every option on the entire phone tree trying to talk to a person. Once we got to the office, the car wasn't anywhere near ready, the staff was completely dismissive (would have been nice if their phone tree would have been able to connect us with one of the people in the office, as unhelpful as they were) and nobody could explain why the shuttle wasn't running as it was scheduled to be. At this point, our only recourse is to share this experience about Fox and [redacted] on as many review sites as we can find. I imagine it can't damage Fox's gutter-poor reputation more than it already is, but hopefully [redacted] will reconsider its decision to do business with them in the future. I can't recommend strongly enough against doing business with either of them.

I used Fox Rent A Car or rather tried to use this company, and had just arrived to the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport on a 2⅓ hour flight, the line at the Fox rental kiosk was two hours long. I stood in line for an hour before going to another rental company. It took about 15min and I had a car. The Airport was not busy at that time and the other car rental companies were not busy either. It was revealed to me that this is a common with them and that they poorly managed.
