Fox Valley Insulation Reviews (1)

Review: Fox Valley Insulation was contracted via phone call to [redacted] to add blown in insulation to our attic in April. Over the phone it was made clear that we have an attic air conditioning unit that would need to be blocked around and insure that no blown insulation made it onto or into the area of the air conditioner. [redacted] stated that he fully understood this and would pass on the information to those performing the work.

On April 24 the insulating laborers arrived to do the work. I was working on another house project so I should them how to get into the attic and assumed they knew what they needed to do. The following day I went to look at the work and noticed that there was insulation on the air conditioner. I called [redacted] the next business day and he was upset that the guys made the error and would send out a crew to fix it. The crew returned in 2 weeks to correct the error. This time I made sure they knew what went wrong last time, and the supposedly fixed the issue. From the viewable area of the attic it appeared that the error was fixed, but I wasn’t able to crawl through the blown insulation for a more thorough inspection.

On Sunday, August 16 as I was preparing to leave to compete in Race The Lake water started dripping from our ceiling light in the kitchen. A air conditioning service tech came out to examine the a/c unit and said that the condenser plate was “caked” with blown insulation, which caused the drip-pan to overfill into the rafter and come out of our kitchen light.

Again the following week I called [redacted]. During our conversation he admitted that this was cause by his technicians, but the claim would need to be filed with the corporate office. An email was sent to [redacted] on August 19 with the initial request for restitution for the a/c repair bill, the cost of the race I missed, and money to repair our ceiling (the ceiling drywall is sagging). Since then there has been back-and-forth communication on what is required to settle the claim. It has become unclear on what they exactly need to pay us restitution. I made a good faith settlement offer on October 19, but no response was given from the company.

On November 6 I requested the contact information of the person handling the claim at the corporate office. After a phone call on November 10 to [redacted] I was finally provided the contact information of the corporate contact. [redacted] was called on November 10 and 12 with voice messages left that I’m looking for clarification on what is needed from both parties to get this claim settled by January 1, 2016. An email was also sent on November 12 asking the same. No response has been received, so I’m filing this complaint in hopes that this issue can get settled. I can provide the email chain with [redacted] and [redacted] as well as the receipt for the a/c repair and the race I had to miss upon request.Desired Settlement: We are asking for a full refund ($460), plus covering the a/c repair bill ($89.20) and an additional $1500 to replace the drywall on the ceiling where the water damage occurred. This would be a total of $2049.20.
