I am a representative from Fox Valley Iron Metal & Auto Salvage responding to ID # ***When I received notice of this incident I immediately contacted the employee in question to get his side of the storyI have attached a copy of his statement as well as a scanned copy of the pick-up
requestYou can see when you review it that my driver recorded the days and times that he had left Ms *** a message trying to piher vehicle. It is our company policy at all of our locations that we do not pay for other scrap metal when we pisalvage vehiclesReasons being, there is no way for us to know the weight of the metal, and many times the drivers are picking up more than one vehicle so there would not be enough room on the truck for extra materialIf there is room on the truck we will take the material as a free disposalWe let them know if they would like to get paid for the material they would need to bring it to us and have it weighed on our certified truck scaleI am not sure if there was a miscommunication between one of our employees and Ms*** or if it was a miscommunication between Ms*** and her husbandAfter reading through both statements it sounds like it may have been the laterI have spoken with all of our dispatchers (including our Wisconsin Rapids location) and they all seemed to be well versed in our company policy, as far as, only offering a free disposal for material being picked up with Salvage vehicles.I sincerely apologize that Ms*** felt she received less than par customer serviceThat is once area we strive to do our best inWe value her and all the other customers we have and want to ensure they are all treated with the utmost respectUnfortunately, I think in this situation it was a lack of communication between parties or a misunderstandingI have informed all employees, especially those in a dispatch position that they need to make sure they are on the same page as the customerI encouraged them to ask questions and encourage the customer to ask them questions if they are unclear about anything.If you need any additional information please don't hesitate to askThank you for the opportunity to respond on this matter. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The statement received from the business is not acceptable. There was in no way shape or form a misunderstanding. The whole incident went on over several weeks time and was clarified several times. We fully intended to get money for the additional items as we were repeatedly told. Had we been told the driver was doing a free disposal we would have taken the scrap somewhere ourselves. It was the original person I spoke to idea that the additional items could be taken with the driver and weighed later. I had initially requested to take the scrap there myself, since I had never scrapped anything before I did not know how things are handled. I was convinced to let the driver take it as the rep said it was no big deal might as well send it with the driver. I repeat there was absolutely no misunderstanding. I will be filing suit in small claims court if this is not made right. Badger will be responsible for interest and court fees. I suggest I receive a check in the mail by August 15 or a case will be filed. If the company backs up what its employees say it would make this right. More than two employees stated to me and my husband the same thing. There could not be any misunderstanding as it could have taken a few words to clear this up. If we had ever even received a phone call back or someone to talk to us with those statements we would have understood that it was their intention to steal from us. But in every interaction with Badger we were told the same thing.
