Foxburg Inn

Review: My husband and I stayed at the Foxburg Inn on Saturday, July 5th, 2014. Soon after we checked in we tried to make a cell phone call, but soon realized there was no cell service to the area, as it is not near a tower. We then tried to connect to the Internet on our laptop, because the Inn's website lists wireless internet as part of the room amenities. We were unable to connect, even after several calls to the front desk. The desk person said " Well, it's working down here..." and offered no alternatives. A little while later, we stopped down to the desk and asked again, suggesting that they reset the modem. The desk person looked unsure of what was meant by that and clearly was not trained to assist with this problem. She did say that sometimes some of the rooms can't always get the wifi. She did not offer to move us to a different room.This was a problem for us because my husband's job requires that he be able to stay in touch, and sense there was no cell service, the internet was even more important. When we checked out the next morning, we asked that a discount be applied to our bill, due to the lack of an advertised amenity. The desk attendant said she did not have the authority to do so, but that she would ask the manager to email us.The following Wednesday (July 9th), after no email from the manager, I sent an email to the Inn's email address. I got no response, so on July 18th, I sent a message using the message form on the Inn's website. Still no response. On July 23rd, I called the Inn. The phone rang 23 times and I was about to hang up when someone finally picked up. I asked to speak to the manager. I was told the manager only comes in once per day to pick up his messages. I asked for the manager's name ([redacted]) and asked that he return my call concerning my recent stay.An hour later I received an email from the Inn, which I have included as an attachment. If the wifi is available only in the lobby area, it should be stated that way on their website.Desired Settlement: In return for the poor customer service and lack of a promised amenity, we are requesting a $50 credit off of our bill.
