I've lived at one of their properties in [redacted] for months now In that time I've submitted about maintenance requests, often for issues that were already worked on and fixed for about a week When I moved in a door was off the hinges, it took them two months to fix this I had a leak in my wall resulting in mold in the closet, it took them two weeks and threats of breaking my lease to get a plumber out Throughout all this the office has wavered between unresponsive and openly hostile Despite never paying rent late and being a model tenant outside of holding them accountable for keeping the unit habitable, they've declined to renew my lease While I have no issue with this as I would never renew there I have yet to get a response to my request to the property manager to assure they haven't made any retaliatory negative remarks on my rental history as a result of my constant maintenance requests and efforts to make them actually resolve these issues I will add that retaliatory hits on my rental history are illegal and carry hefty fines, so if they have, then let's dance

My boyfriend and I moved into the [redacted] June 28th of The first apartment we had signed the lease for was INFESTED with roachesThey were absolutely everywhereThe management was very apologetic, and allowed us to move into a different apartment on the complete opposite side of the complexThough for months we complained the air conditioner was not cooling, and our apartment would stay around degreesMaintenance would keep telling us that the unit was working fine it was just bad positioning of the apartment and "heat rises"As we understood south texas is hot and heat does rise, I was pregnant and was sent to the emergency room on multiple occasions due to the apartment not coolingOnce I had my son in March we placed another work order, my son went two months with a severe heat rash and had to be medicated to bear living hereOnce I complained, and threatened to contact they replaced the unitWe have placed several work orders months ago and they have yet to be completedOur smoke alarm was broken and kept sounding at in morning and when we called the after hours maintenance we were told that did not warrant an emergency and they would not be out to make it stop soundingInstead they told us how to get on a ladder and fix it ourselvesThe rent changes month to monthWe have signed a month lease and every month the rent amount was different and no one in the office could tell us whyThe landscape company that this complex uses shattered my car window, and the manager did not have the correct contact information for the company that he pays to upkeep the community, and by the time we got the correct information they would not fix the damagesI have contacted the office on several occasions to let them know that we are experiencing roaches for four monthsThey sent pest control the first month in FebruarySince then pest control has come once and that was last weekI called and asked them to spray frequently because I have an infant and the roaches are getting unbearableThe lady in the office told me to clear out all of my cabinets on Tuesday and he will come and spray everythingHe never showed up so I placed everything back in the cabinetsPest control then showed up the next day Wednesday and was frustrated that they didn't inform me he is contracted to spray Wednesdays and I didn't have my cabinets cleaned out like they had informed him I didHe then told me I did not have any roaches and sprayed once behind the stove and leftThey are everywhere! I could never in best conscience refer people to this complexThe manager Felipe seems as if he is not concerned with the resident's problems, and is never on siteI have never lived in such a filthy, unorganized, and rude community

RE: Northlands [redacted] (1) Non functioning central air conditioning for two weeks in 80+ temps in [redacted] No one on site resolved the issue or handled the situation Finally resolved when I escalated the problem to the corporate office in Massachusetts and threaten to contact the local health authority(2) Harrassment from neighbor by which the management did nothing and said they could not do anything about itBut once the police was called in and a case number was filed, all of a sudden the management was able to offer the neighbor an apartment swapAfter six months of going back and forth, it all got resolved within two hours of the office leaving the premises(3) A lot more issues ranging from the condition of the apartments, lack of cleanliness of facilities, lack of responsibility, management and follow through from staff(4) Months after move out, we are chased by debt collectors for what they say is an outstanding balanceI've emailed the company to ask for a clarification on this balance and have never received a responseWe never had a late payment or non-payment even in the case of no AC for two weeksNow I've emailed the corporate office again in hopes that our nightmare experience with Northlands will just come to a final end

This company is publishing my name and likeness on their company web-site in an effort to attract viewsI have NEVER done business with this companyI am not affiliated with this company in anyway and there is no reason they should be using my name or likeness on their web-siteI have called numerous times, left messages, e-mails, etcThis is illegal and I am beginning to feel like I should sue for fraudulent misrepresentation and misappropriation of my name

It would be in the best interest of anybody looking for an apartment to steer clear of Northland ***Not only are the units in poor condition, the staff is about as unprofessional as they come*** is rapidly growing therefore apartments must be pre-leased, 30+ days in advance in most casesI visited *** viewed a model apartment, since our actual apartment was still occupied, and decided to sign a leaseIn the days leading up to mowe were told that the unit was not ready and would not be ready until our move in day (Northland had days to turn over the apartment)We were not able to view the apartment or receive keys until the lease was signedTo our surprise, the apartment was in terrible conditionCarpets were wet from being cleaned an hour before our move inBaseboards were coming off walls, the front door didn't open and close/lock properlyThere was a foul odor resembling cat urine and mold growing on the window seals of both bedroomsOn top of it all, the carpets were infested with fleas even after being "cleaned"After having two leasing agents come and view the apartment and saying that it's not that bad I chose to get the property manager involved***, came and viewed the apartment and was embarrassed with the condition and gave us three options:
Allow Northland to make repairs (I had to remind *** that it would involve him having to move us out for a week or more, along with all of our belongings and then back in)Move to another unit (We leased a two bedroom first floor with a yard, not a smaller two bedroom on the second floorIf we wanted that we wouldn't be at ***We were also told if we chose this option we would not receive help moving to the other unit)*** would let us out of our lease and refund rent paid which would allow us to move to a move in ready apartmentI chose option I am employed full time and live with my girlfriend who suffers from an auto-immune disorderI did not have the means to move us to this apartment so I had to hire the services of a moving company; twice due to Northland *** not following through on their end of providing us a habitable dwellingI was also out a vet bill for our dog to be treated for the fleas, and a hotel for my girlfriend to stay in with the worry of her coming in contact with mold sporesI requested Northland *** to reimburse me for moving expenses in the amount of $I was not seeking reimbursement for the vet bill or hotel stay, only what I thought was fair for both partiesThey adamantly declinedSo here I am, sharing with you all my poor experience with Northland ***/Northland Investment CorporationThere are much cleaner, better maintained, and managed apartment complexes in the areaIf Northland were to have done what was right, and reimbursed me the moving cost, you would see a review here saying that although the apartment was not what it was supposed to be, *** and his team made things right and handled the situation in a very professional mannerI hope this review is helpful and acts as a warning to future rentersDo your homework and look closely at the apartment and the group managing itNorthland is rated a D- by the Revdex.com

I am a current resident in Lakeside Greenboro community in Melbourne, FL I have been here for almost my one year I received a letter not to long ago that I had to agree on lease terms months prior to my end of lease month lease is cheaper than a month lease? Not sure I understand that Secondly, the pool is ridiculously warm and not enjoyable The outside of the building look like *** and are poorly maintained I am embarrassed to invite family and friends over because of the condition of the buildings and the grounds It took me a threatening email to finally get my railings painted that have been chipped and multi-colored since I moved in They painted them finally but did a horrible job The old paint was not scraped off so not it clean and bumpy Now, I had an issue with signing the lease online and they are trying to charge me a insane rent amount (month to month rent) when my lease still has two months left Not to mention I submitted the requested documents online I have rented many places and this by far has been the worst experience of my life Northland wants your money but won't do anything to improve the property My kitchen looks like it came right out of the TV show All in the Family from the 70's Everything is half-a$$ done nothing is done correctly I strongly suggest if your looking for a place to rent in Melbourne Florida take your chances somewhere else unless Northland @ Greenboro hire real maintenance men and start doing things correctly Last but not least, beware of the promises The staff will talk about all the great things that are coming to Greenboro; somehow they never make it there

Northland is a corporation which shows a lack caring for families as proven by unfair practice of misleading application information for renters
