depositHe had purchased a home from one or our former clients and was entitled to the security deposit that was held being held by our Property Management CompanyOnce we had confirmed with the former client that Mr***-*** had purchased the home and did have a right to the deposit we held, we mailed the deposit to the address provided by Mr***-*** via the form filled out by Mr***-***, which confirmed to the tenants he would be the new holder of the depositHe did confirm the address provided would be a good address to send the depositWe mailed it on 8/and provided the certificate of mailing form (attached) from the post office to Mr***-*** to prove we had done so.We were later informed by the complainant and his real estate agent on 8/that he had not received it yetI informed our accounting department that it was never received and they requested we wait until 8/to see if it arrived in the mail in case it was simply delayedOn 8/we heard from the complainant who confirmed it was not receivedOur accounting department began the steps to replace the check but per policy, must charge a fee to cancel a check, unless of course it was our company's error that caused the problemI informed Mr***-*** that we can produce a replacement check but would have to deduct the cancelled check fee from it to do so OR he could opt to wait to see if the check did arrive or come buck to usIf the original check had shown up, there would have been no need to cancel the check or pay the bank feeBut, since Mr***-*** did not feel it was his fault the check was lost, he became very frustrated at thisMr***-*** arrived at the office to pick up a replacement check, which was prepared less the bank fee of $and he informed the staff he would file multiple complaints regarding his short encounter with our company.
