On Jan (over year ago), my wife & I wrote a check in the amount of $9,to Frank R*** for a new bathroom In total Frank R*** has $32, Currently, we have an issue that Frank R*** refuses to remedy The issue is related to our shower floor in new bathroomFirst, the white marble tile continues to remain wet underneath tile and is dark gray in color Frank R*** initially insulted my wife and I by claiming that we were not cleaning properly Then, he eventually had the reseller of marble tile stop by to view defectJeff the tile reseller, arrived at our house - ready to clean our shower floor Upon his arrival and subsequent view of our shower floor Jeff realized Frank R***'s assertion that the floor was dirty and stained was not correct; hence he did not clean the floor He did however mention that the discolored tile was not what he would expect He suggested tile may slightly change color when wet but not remain discolored Then, Fran

Dear Sir/Madam,I am happy to report that [redacted] and Mr. R[redacted] are in the process of negotiating an amicable settlement.  I will keep you posted.Best regards,Krista M. C[redacted]Office Manager | Frank A. R[redacted], Contractor Inc.

I have been a remodeling contractor for 44 years and have thousands of happy clients. It is worth mentioning that over those 44 years, I have never had a Revdex.com complaint filed against my company until now. When [redacted] selected marble tile for his new shower floor, I explained to him this was...

a natural material that absorbs water and will darken when wet. With daily use some part of the floor will always have darker spots. The sales people at the tile store also explained this when [redacted] selected this material. It is standard practice to explain this to those who do not understand or have never had a real marble shower. I have visited [redacted]'s house many, many times during the course of completing his spectacular new bathroom. In the interest of an amicable resolve I have offered to replace the entire marble shower floor with a porcelain tile floor which would look the same and would not discolor when wet, at no additional charge. There is no sense in replacing the floor with the same marble material because it will have the same outcome. [redacted], the owner of [redacted] in Horsham, PA, is a widely regarded marble expert also looked at [redacted]'s shower floor and said "this is a perfect installation and is working perfectly". He also explained to [redacted] that when marble gets wet it darkens. It was obvious that the floor needed cleaning. [redacted] described that, "we thoroughly cleaned it". This was not meant as an insult, many bath and soap products have oil in them that can discolor marble. I have made many efforts to resolve issues with [redacted] and this has been going on for many months. [redacted] has not responded to any of my suggestion or efforts. The last time we communicated, I told him that we should let the Justice of The Peace try to resolve it.

I am rejecting this response because::The contractor (Frank R[redacted]) is not providing suitable remedy.  As can be seen in the attached document (and elsewhere on Internet) the white marble tiles should not turn dark gray and remain dark gray in perpetuity unless they are improperly installed. Frank R[redacted] refuses to accept that they 'potentially' made an installation error. I certainly understand that mistakes happen; but, should be corrected accordingly. Frank R[redacted] has not been to our home to even investigate (view) either the defective caulking or defective white marble tile installation - he prefers as stated in his response to let justice of peace resolve. Even though his experts Jeff & Bob agreed that the white marble tile should not remain dark gray; but rather return to white within a few hours maximum time. Also compounding the water puddling underneath the marble tile, the caulk around drain is improperly installed or the wrong caulk was used. The caulk was defective (wearing away) as mentioned in my original complaint and text message to Frank R[redacted] less than a week after the first remediation attempt (message with photo sent to Frank R[redacted] on 10 March 2017) – this was sent to Frank R[redacted] to depict the caulk wearing away less than a week after his remediation attempt. There are gaps visible to the naked eye of the caulk wearing away at the shower drain (photo that was sent to Frank R[redacted] is attached – as can be seen at approximately 2 and 4 o’clock views).  This clearly is not normal wear for 1 weeks’ time.  Additionally, Frank R[redacted] is proposing to install porcelain versus the more expensive white marble tile without adjusting price or providing any cost relief. I find this approach unacceptable for a general contractor that states from his website and contract, "We provide our clients with the best materials with the best installations, backed by the best warranties in the business". If Frank R[redacted] was not knowledgeable about installing the white marble tile he should have expressed this prior to our tile selections. Frank R[redacted] has also failed to substantiate that the white marble tile once wet should remain dark gray even if not used for weeks at a time.  As can be seen in my attachment (which supports my case) that the white marble tile has been installed incorrectly.  Furthermore, insofar as the floor drying time – I have a text message from Frank R[redacted] stating, “I think a fan could help, leave the floor heat on and let fan run for couple days should go a long way to drying floor. A little cold dry outside air would help as well” – this cannot be normal. I struggle understanding how Frank R[redacted] is trying to convince us that white marble tile will turn dark gray after only a couple of uses and then remain dark gray for extended periods of time.  Lastly, I am really tired of Frank R[redacted] threatening me and providing minimal alternatives that would benefit us (the consumer) versus Frank R[redacted] (the contractor) – please see this latest text message received from Frank R[redacted], “Hey Bob what are you thinking at this point? I'm happy to do porcelain floor at no charge, we should get this resolved asap. Otherwise I'll go Justice of peace, which will mean you get no warranty at all,  I don't want to do that, I want an amicable resolve and to provide a warranty. So please let me know.”  Please know that I do not understand why Frank R[redacted] sees fit to threaten me – that if I don’t comply with his options that he will not honor the stated (implied) warranty guarantee.  In that, I am really dismayed by his actions to resolve or remediate.  This clearly (in my opinion) is not becoming of a positive rated Revdex.com company. Regards ~ [redacted]Mobile:: [redacted]
